No, that could easily go for that much. That's about $450 a pack, which is actually on the cheap side.

If you think that is insane, check these out:

I collected MTG cards for years but unfortunately didnt get into it until after the Revised edition was released.  I missed out on all of the really rare Alpha, Beta, and Unlimited cards.  Hell, I could finance my entire wedding and honeymoon just by selling a few of these cards.

So how do you explain the shipping charge?  $340 for priority mail within the US?  Even if the package weighed 70 lbs and was 26"x26"x26", the postage would only be $128.

Back around 2000, I had at least one of each set, including foils, Summer specials, etc. I had 4 of each playset for use. The Alpha and Beta sets I scored from a guy in Norway, stupidly cheap. They used to DRAFT beta/antiquities/Arabian nights once a month. the storeowner had cases of each set.....
If you know anything about the game, you'd know why those cards are so expensive. When the game first came out, the cards were so powerful that it boiled down to whoever went first won. First-turn victories, without the opponent even getting a chance to play, were possible. So they command a huge price now. Not to mention they are as rare as tits on Kate Moss.

That is flat out preposterous anyway.  The USPS will only offer insurance up to $5000, as its $7.55 + $1.05 for $100 over thorugh $5000 so even in that that it would only cost ~$60.  TrollandToad are just a bunch of f**king scammers.

For refernece here are the USPS insurance rates:

http://pe.usps.gov/text/dmm300/ratesandfees.htm

Its pretty far down the page

As a matter of fact, looking at thier shipping quote, it would be $120 cheaper for them to ship it to me if I were in the UK.

I stopped playing RPGs before the card craze started so don't know much about them. Sounds like it would have been a good investment to buy lots of them early though.

Evidently, if you want to win the 'world championships' you have to be pretty well cashed up.

I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. I'm 100% sure the packs have been searched. Troll tries to claim that only 10% of boxed sets were shrinked? What is he, on crack? Yeah, they just ship 'em out of the factory all nice and loose so they can spill on the truck......

I think he means that Troll and Toad removed their Fazzlewood auctions(?).  They have a couple in the store but I pointed out that their stock image is from the Acaeum as well so they have removed them to fix them.

Well done Mars (and others).

Most times you can get a lot more indication of the condition from a single picture, and stock photos (even if not 'borrowed') just make it that bit harder.. I generally won't buy if there's no photo included/provided of the actual item.

It is really baffling though that they do not take pictures of the actual items for their high profile items.

T&T Along with Titan Games are still listed on the Acaeum webpage of Creditable Resellers and Auction Rpg sites.

So what counts  as " serious complaints " listed on Acaeum website? I have seen these people discussed numerous times before about questionable practices here on Acaeum.
