$185 for an OCE..

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Judging from the bid list it doesn't look like it was battled up the heat of the moment.  The $185 winning bid was placed on the 11th and the same bidder came back earlier today and placed an EVEN HIGHER bid.  8O

*g*. Rather strange bidding, indeed...

Fairly nice set, but not a beauty by any means: badly rusted staples not noted.

I wonder what the prices were at GenCon, this time around!

AD&D Coloring book for $75?

It says its a first print but is it really worth that much?  I just paid under $10 for an uncoloured 3rd print.  Any difference between prints?

Given that another copy has been sat around for ages at $50 (not exactly a bargain, either, IMHO), I'd say that was a "no". ;)

We had several OCEs at GenCon that were NoSales at $100 (slightly tattered tho). We had a few others that didn't meet Reserves of $75 (even more tattered). Jaded gamer market praps.

yes i know. i noticed them some time back (like within an hour of the auction starting) - was the reason i didnt bid on it in the end anyway (wouldnt have paid that price anyhow) - very fishy indeedy & i did report it too (sorry but it didnt sound official & legal to me).

but hey-ho there you go

I think that Valhalla has had that item listed before.  Doesn't the current price constitute a mark-down?

Is "trollandtoad" a member here? He's listed a bunch of stuff in the last few days with absolutely ridiculous prices.

Yesterday he started listing Spellfire cards with $5+ BIN, LOL.

Stuff like $75 G3 and G2, over $100 for two of the Planescape books (not sets), $75 for a red-box Basic D&D set.. crazy stuff.

He's got a few rares listed in his store:

http://www.trollandtoad.com

Including a Jade Hare with cover, Ghost Tower of Invernesss (#181), and a Lost Tamoachan (#34), although to be fair, he is showing these as out of stock.

Yeah, his eBay store has a few big ticket items. Not sure if the price on those is reasonable, but his pricing on a lot of other stuff is just off the wall.

Not all his pricing is bad though. He undercut me on a few of the uncommon books :P

imho, 'silly Auction prices' are entirely different from 'high Store prices', for a plethora of reasons. Were I trying to maintain a Store, I'd have high prices too.
