Condition?  The pic is blurry, so it's hard to tell but the corners look mighty sharp.  Maybe Gus had the inside track on some photos.

(Or maybe he was drinking with the guy that took the auction photo.)

Well, I got me a whole list of crazy bidders here...

Look at the auction picture!

Duh... :D

(Sometimes it really doesn't pay to win by a few cents!).

First I am glad someone else other than me won that. I had meant to pull that snipe before I left for work. I was getting bidder remorse in advance. I find it harder and harder to bid on character sheets. The last set I bought I had a hard time paying what I did and it was half the snipe I had on these. Driving home I thought..."Crap! I never cancelled the snipe   ..it would be just my luck if I actually got a snipe to work for a change.

Ok that said it is probably just too early for me and lack of coffee but I am not getting what you are saying here. The price the last one went for was higher IIRC. Is it crazy because it is too low? I can't see anything out of line with the picture...or is it one from here or something like that? Again could be me or environmental factors affecting me but I am missing something....or perhaps I was not meant to see the whole picture

Nah; last one was 1977 Lizard: this one is 1979 Wizard (still has 1977 copyright...).
"Value" probably around the $25-30 mark, tops, allowing for the faults.

I'd like to know what Frank's excuse was. ;)

Marlith wrote:..it would be just my luck if I actually got a snipe to work for a change.

Very nearly did: I only upped my snipe when I saw I'd won the other auctions and the price was moving ahead.
Paid too much attention to the text and the picture just didn't kick me hard enough...! :o

I think it went high but only by a sliver. Those early sheets with Wham cover, whichever logo, are getting extremely hard to find.

GenCon Autograph note: If you like defaced product (tho I know many of you emphatically do not), bring your copies of this & other Whammish items (like Guidon's Ironclad) for Tom to sign.

Heh... OK, then! I'll stick with my evaluation for now and look on bemusedly at the Acaeum listing (should that ever be updated) for an item that was not what either of the highest bidders thought it was! :)

(Sorry, I can't get the seller to send you that one over, Frank: from past experience he has a totally inflexible (personal) interpretation of eBay rules :?).

I've heard such rumors, too. ;)

Hmm... did anyone post this link, did I click-through to it by accident, or have the phishers got new technology?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0016078853

(All the seller needed was some paste-on woodgrain paper borders and they could've doubled that ask. Sheesh.... :?)

Gyax? Sounds like some kinda lone wolf author, that. :3

Something tells me that I am not going to get a response. :P   You have really got to love though how matter of fact his response is, almost like he knows exactly what he is talking about.
