So what you're saying is that a mere $1,200 paid to Creepy gets me in the door on a bitchin' set of three-year-old minis that, with any digging and effort at all, could be had for much less?

Where do I sign up?

Creepy's main incoime has come from these miniatures!  They are really hot and he got on the train at the perfect time!  One guy in game game group buys his sets from creepy (Uhgg!!!) even after I told him about his antics.

Creepy may be an A$$hole but he has made a fortune off these plastic disasters and will no doubt rake in another load when the next set is released!

I generally agree — and I don't want to drag this thread over the moon or anything — but I'm always leery of blanket statements when it comes to collectibles.

There's plenty of current Burger King employees who can remember betting heavily on baseball cards and comics in the '90s, back when they owned stores.

Plus, there's the future (or lack thereof) of the economy, and blah, blah, yada, yada, etc., etc. You just never can tell ... although, as stated, I suspect you're right.

See...the thing is, Axe...I can't debate you 'cause your avatar scares me.

I just know that guy is in my closet right now.

Not even Al from Deadwood would mess with REH ... hell, Chuck Norris might not mess with REH. Well, Chuck might — it would depend on whether or not he'd already scared people to death that day ...

He's ALWAYS been around on eBay. I have always seen several interesting items in his stock, all at very interesting (for him) prices.

WIth all due respect, I highly doubt that creepy has made a fortune doing anything. Also, just looking at how great his feedback both received and especially from the feedback that he is giving he will end up alienataing a majority of those who will repeat buy from him.

LOL, thank you Brian for once again saving a priceless piece of history there.  I had forgotten that annoying drivel.  When I think of Creepy in my mind I actually picture a lifesize, human looking turd with stick legs and arms and smelling of crap.

Jeebus.  That's easily double the price they'd go for on "Clueless Newbie Day".  This guy's on crack, but at least he's not screwing people on shipping...

Please, nobody start that "market value" nonsense again.  It only encourages people like this.

I know this guy. I purchased a very hard-to-find shrinkwrapped copy of The Lost Level from him. I paid 7 pounds, if I remember correctly, plus shipping. At any rate, much less than I expected to pay after searching for it for months. The seller was also very pleasant, and his shipment took a very short time to be delivered. I assume he's simply enthusiastic about shrinkwrapped boxes.

Funny that CoG that I just bought a couple of weeks ago at HalfPriced books cost me only 14.95 and included the first of the falcon module with buildings unpunched and I would place both at near mint for condition. Ah well guess some one will buy it...

:P

My avatar does look like an undertaker, doesn't he.   :)

He looks to me like a Call of Cthulhu character....except that he's not rail thin and wracked with tuberculosis.

He was, however, doom haunted.   :(
