argyrebasin wrote:Actually, the creased pages are included in the listing. Read further before you make snap decisions. And the listing is misleading because pictures show the defects? Ok.
deimos3428 wrote:Creased pages or not, you really should cite the source of your information you're borrowing in the listing. All we're asking for is a little mention of the Acaeum, y'know? Many of us went to a lot of work to determine the true 1st printing you're selling. That price is definitely over the top. If you can get it, more power to you, but it's really sad to see this sort of predatory listing all the time.
serleran wrote:One-tenth of $499 is $49.9 I'll buy that. If you're serious. I want a 1st print DMG.
smarmy1 wrote:He has lowered the price of the auction to $399 and there is now a reference to the Acaeum in the listing.
bclarkie wrote:$399 is still patently ridiculous.
smarmy1 wrote:I wasn't arguing whether the price was good or not just that it doesn't hurt to be a little nicer to one another. Also, for the sake of discussion what would be a reasonable price (Ebay listing) for this item in the stated and/or visible condition? I'm not a DMG print-run junkie and since the last Acaeum estimate/valuation was in 2005, I really have no idea.

argyrebasin wrote:Thanks but I have concerns about your comment on predatory listing. Did you even bother to look at some of the prices on my sold listings? I sincerely doubt it. They are reasonable or I wouldn't be in business my friend.
Yes, I do reference the Acaeum when I use material to clarify item details to my customers...Are you really going to crucify me because I missed one item?
deimos3428 wrote:In a word, yes. The Acaeum doesn't require advertising, you do. If you're going to make money off of our hard work, credit your source. You're just trying to cover your ass at this point. Give it a rest.
argyrebasin wrote: Maybe it'll go for $1.99 or maybe it'll sell higher than $100 just like the Jade Hare I sold about 6 months ago. You never know what will happen on eBay and that's part of the chance you take when selling there.
argyrebasin wrote:I could say BC selling a DMG for $266 is patently ridiculous but I don't because I'm a decent person.
smarmy1 wrote:Thanks for the info, Brian.
smarmy1 wrote:On a related note, are there any plans afoot with the other valuation board memebers to refresh the category 4 and 5 rares on this site?
bclarkie wrote:Aside from the fact that *I* have already said it was ridiculous so it would't be off the mark, that price as has been noted in my posted happened in auction as a result of a crazy ass bidding war and still ended up $140 less than what you have listed now. You can list whatever you want for however much you want, its your option to do so. It's other people's option to criticize you for your listing. If you don't want to be criticized, then don't list it for that much. If you want the option of listing it for whatever you want thats fine, just don't be surprised when you do in fact get criticized for it. Its pretty simple.
