He's not optimistic; he's an idiot. I sent him a question asking if he accidentally typed an extra 9 in the starting price.

Perhaps I am wrong, But I feel this auction simply got way out of hand. The sellar IMO has a thousand reasons to be happy here.

The CA is certainly very rare, but the SR's are no so rare as this bid seems to infer.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... :IT&ih=011

I think the bid went at least thrice the amount it should have for the items listed.

And No, although I did bid on the listing, I am not just a bitter bidder.

Does anyone know the runnerup bidder?  I'd sell him my SR set, minus the CA, for a discount.

The CA has always made me laugh ... could there possibly be a duller "valuable" item in gaming history?  :)

If I had one, I'd want the damn thing out of the house. And if someone gave me $1,000 for the pleasure of helping me achieve that goal, my face would look like this:  8O

What the CA REALLY needs is an ultra-rare pencil to go with it.

Yikes ... $18; more than double the actual cost.

Shaky listing, zero feedback, $500 opener, laughable shipping ... golly, where do I sign up?  :)

I sent him a few helpful hints, and links to other White boxes that have gone for much less.  He'll either ignore me, thank me, or curse me, I'll let you know which....

Seller sent back a message he accidentally put in an extra zero in the price...now it's at $50....not a bad deal if you just want a set to use or read through. Shipping is still high but just factor that in, a White Box for $68 isn't that bad....

It's always a relief to run into someone who is willing to take a piece of friendly advice. And he's likely to make a nice sale now, too: someone will take a flyer at a $50 set ... hell, I might do it and just throw away the box.

Good for this seller; more power to him. (Still not wild about the shipping, but I suppose the bidders will just factor that into their max bids).

Yeh, one reason I stopped offering friendly advice to would be sellers...the abundance of "Go EFF yourself, I know what I'm doing, C1 monos are worth $200!!!!" responses.  At least this seller had the courtesy to reply back telling me he made a mistake....

I agree with ya'll about the shipping for the white box OCE. The box is already crushed, so a large envelope would likely do fine.   3 bucks.

I reported the shipping charge as excessive since he states USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Box which is $8.95. If he would of only stated Flat rate shipping for $18.00 he could of probably got away with it.

We will see if eBay does anything about it.
