That looks like the one he bought from Hamilcar.

Makes the auction listed earlier in this thread seem like a STEAL.
That earlier one featured many modules and all five of these box sets, all shrinked....... for less money total.
And the guy above only ships to Italy it seems, and even then for about 20-35 bucks.

Unfortunately, our currency is not worth THAT MUCH against dollar. Give us at least a few more months before we have a ratio of 2:1 or more.

At any rate, for what I know of the Italian shipping prices, that's definitely overcharged. Plus, by the condition of the box, the seller might as well press it in an envelope and send it for much less... and the buyer would not notice the extra damage.

One more thing...

The seller of that auction states "Svendo la mia collezione di Dungeons & Dragons!!!"

Literally, "svendo" means "I give away at incredible bargain prices". Shops make "svendite" when closing business or renewing the structure, and you can expect discounts up to 70% when the word "svendere" is shown. I guess this guy has an incredibly high opinion of his collection.

There are a couple of others of note as well that are being sold by the same seller.  Not sure about this one:

How many shrinkwrapped copies of The Awful Green Things From Outer Space do you normally see on Ebay anyway?  Still cant imagine paying that much for it though.  :?

I'm more impressed by the fact that he's outbid degassy multiple times. 8O

I think he meant to say "Inyorendo la mia collezione di Dungeons & Dragons!!!" which in Italian means "I pork you with incredibly high prices".

Yeah.... he outbid Degassy on the modules, but there is some strange bidding on the AGTFOS. Degassy bid $325.69, and Biggamegeek bid maybe 40 times in $5-10 increments. His last bid was $325, when it would have become clear what Degassy's top bid was. But then Biggamegeek refrained from outbidding him.

New user, zero feedback - all the signs of a shill. But the bids made don't look like the work of a shill, unless he knew Degassy would bid a few cents above a round number. And he was happy to outbid Degassy on all the other auctions.

Curious stuff. The only thing I can think of is Biggamegeek was cranky at having to pay top dollar for the modules, so he decided to make Degassy pay his max for the game.

Regards

Mike

If he's a shill, he bids on a lot of other seller's stuff as well.  And it almost all seems to be early TSR stuff.

Also doesn't seem to like being outbid.  I've seen several auctions where he creeped his way to top bidder, got outbid the next day and then creeped his way to top bidder again.

At the moment, I'm just going to go with clueless newbie.  Though I could be wrong. :)

The card is in very nice condition, that's probably why the seller is asking so much.
Worth shipping off to AFA to have graded.

Am I just clueless or is there a reason that D&DG is auctioning so high lately.

Ok, there's a ruffled-up Outdoor Geos in here (and a hand-drawn fire-breathing dragon!), but this one spiralled out of control..

Gotta love the cover on that Holmes book - not so much a fire-breathing dragon as one with a snotty nose :D

He's not optimistic; he's an idiot. I sent him a question asking if he accidentally typed an extra 9 in the starting price.
