King, I sold mine for $125.00 a couple of weeks ago ... and I have 4 SW Chainmail 8th prints up for $89.00 ... so you never know... someone out there will buy them eventually ... I mean look at the Dragon # 1 at $355.00 already and I have one in the store for $349.00 that 3 people with new accounts or less than 10 feedback want to buy (and I won't sell to them).... I have 3 more Dragon # 1s to put online this weekend... eventually someone will pay the price... :)

That's a bit unfair. I am a new user on eBay. Feedback is only a 2 right now, but I have not received 3 items so I haven't given feedback to those sellers (and hence, no reason for them to leave me any,) giving me, at most, a tentative 5 (awesome, huh! But, you started at zero, too.) This attitude would outright prevent me from making a purchase from you because I have only recently been able to get eBay and PayPal to be friends. I understand it, but a blanket policy just irks me.

So under what ebay account would this store be?

Well I guess we know where this guy is getting his prices from then.  $125 for a TSR DGUTS is an abberation to say the least.  Shit, I know someone who paid less than that for a 1st print Guidon DGUTS this past week.  And anyone that pays $89 or more for an 8th print Chainmail is just plain too lazy to look elsewhere.  You are right though...eventually some dumbass will pay your price.  Regardless of if someone does or not...its still a silly damn price.  :?

Agreed ... but the previous post referred to specific items currently on eBay in a shop at a certain BIN price.  I can't seem to find them ....

Here's the store to avoid:

eBay listings

BTW, who wants to bet that the current high bidder of the Dragon Magazine #1 sitting at $355 is none other than sketrewisp aka douglaswrhea....

Now it all makes sense.  So one question to Douglas.  Why don't I see the Inverness in your store yet?

No I am not the high bidder, but I did make sure it went for a premium price :) (and no I am not Creep1962, but I have bought few things from him and even made a few bucks on them)

Also, I have pulled many items from my store and taken them off eBay to sell to a couple of Acaeum members at better prices (ask CenterStage or Smarmy)

In any case, in answer to improvstone, it will be in the store at some point when I am ready to let it go, as will other items. I have actually upgraded many items in my collection and will put others back out to sell. In some cases the ones I just bought since they weren't as nice as advertised and thus no better than what I have.

As to collecting dust, well I do that too, should I never sell them, I really don't care, they are still here in my cabinet until they do.. next year, or 20 years from now :)

To serleran, I got burned for 2 items at $700+ last year, one I sold, one I bought and PayPal only refunded $200 in a single case... sorry but the only information I have on an ebayer is length of account and feedback... not to say even that means all transactions are safe.

In your case, you are an Acaeum member, so carries a bit more weight since you may have dealt with other members here and thus I can get feedback from them. Not that you may want to buy anything I have, but if you do, let me know.

You know, everyone does this for different reasons, I collect for the heck of it, but also like to sell some things to make a few bucks... then again I do destroy some items, even valuable ones if I think they should have never been sold to begin with... like the Dragon 1-6 I bought for over $500  several weeks back.. the seller was selling for a friend and they ended up with NO staples in them.. he wouldn't refund the money (though I only wanted partial refund) .. in any case, they should never have been sold at a price like that with no staples.. I tossed the mags.. heck I tossed a 2nd print Chainmail last summer, it was in pretty bad shape.. (and hey, it helps your items go up in value if there are less still out there)

I still think its bizarre you won't sell to the guys with low feedback since I know you have more available.  I thought oog was a ringer of some sort but he's convinced me he's not so he's welcome to bid on the Dragon.

If you've been burned just don't ship until the money has cleared.  I'm not shipping anything anywhere to anyone until their check clears for the final price + shipping (and yes my shipping will be lower than given.  My bad for being a newbie seller).

* * *
And the guy at 355 on the Dragon is some UK guy AFAICT.  I think Fin is out becuase of illness or something.

Edit: And FWIW I currently believe that the my copy is slightly better (emphas on slight) than the 349.00 copy.   However, my belief may not reflect reality since I can't get a good view of the 349.00 Dragon spine wear -- and its fricking hard to get a picture of my spine wear.  So I'm basing it on my belief mine is VF+ and his is VF.  But I'd be happy to post more photos and we can compare.   In any event the current bidder is a UK resident who, AFAIK, couldn't bin the 349.00 so that may explain his bid.
