I will buy all the complete 3rd print woodies in at least decent condition that you have at that price.

So, like a Silver Anniversary set, it's concievably better to actually break up an OCE and sell it in pieces????????

Good news though, it makes the complete, original sets rarer. Slowly but surely anyway. Same goes for the SA. How many of them have L3 in the box anymore? Fewer than last year for sure.

I suppose it's a matter of perspective.  If you are an overseas buyer you just got the entire DL lot, a nice looking lot at that, and paid only one shipping price of about $40 I would estimate.  Trying to acquire these singly would be no small task and an overseas buyer would rack up a huge shipping expense.  I think it's a decent deal for cushionbeans.  Congrats.

Hi Gary

That was my exact thinking, buying these individually and shipping them to the uk would have been a real pain....

Much better to get it over and done with...bloody dragonlance

I dont know man, I mean because of the potential shipping savings I don;t think it necessarily qualifies as the silliest, but thats effectively $20 per module with the $40 shipping included.  That pretty high for DL modules, particualarly opened ones.  Just doing a quick look through his store you could have picked up a bunch of shrinkwrapped ones for almost the same price.

Bidding here in the UK is crazy (mostly because of me :-)) and you have to fight for every item and then pay at 1:1 $/£ rates unless you get lucky. I'd have been tempted by that haul if I didn't have half already, yes to save on shipping but also to save on an age chasing down each item (in good condition) and fighting it out for hard to find bargains. Comes down to whether you want stuff now or whether you have the time to patiently wait things out. For example, those JTAS sales earlier today are starting to look like a bargain (excl. #1-4) following a quote I just got for shipping 12 copies + 4 more module sized books + 1 HB + 1 light boxed set to the UK. Have a guess. $140 Global priority air. So I didn't hit the checkout button and I haven't got the items.

I still say $20 per Dl module shipping or not, is high.  If the seller of the JTAS you are referring to is trying to charge you $140 for 12 very small books, 4 modules and a hardcover , you need to report him to Ebay as hes trying to rip you off on shipping, to put it mildly. A lot like that should cost at the absolute most, $38 for USPS Global Priority Flat rate shipping...at the absolute most.

blame the standard ebay calculator and ask seller if airmail m-bag or isal m-bag is possible at $2-3 per pound with 11 pound minimum
http://pe.usps.gov/text/pub51/pub51tbl4-7.html cannot find isal m-bag link fees online for some reason but free to hunt for that
even paying full premium rates $140 sounds a bit crazy as flat rate box is $37 http://pe.usps.gov/text/pub51/pub51tbl3a-3c.html

Actually wasn't on ebay. Was a US bookseller and I'm pretty sure I could do a deal if I contacted them. To be honest it was one of those lazy, impulse buy attempts so I'm sort of happy that the shipping cost saved me from myself (as it often does).
