Not seriously outrageous, but the "reserve not met" puts it over the top for me:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Dungeons-Dragons-Pl ... dZViewItem

A $14 minimum bid and a reserve price on a 6th- or 7th-print PHB with visible edge wear? It's currently the highest-priced 1E PHB in the regular (not store) ebay listings, so he must not have done any research before pricing it.

I don't know how silly the price is, but the item is very silly, and anyone caught using them at my table would be stripped, tarred, and peacock feathered... and then, roasted with some fava beans on the side.

A Wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.

Cheater's Dice

You mean you wouldn't throw them into the pool of gold that's been talked about on another thread . . . of course, would that make that player's (now golden) character "fool's gold"?   :thumleft:

(OK, OK . . . it's 10:30 PM here and I'm half asleep; best I could do . . . !)

What the hell?  :?

It is also kind of interesting to note this statement in the description:

will not sell to anyone whom has not given me feedback from a prior purchase, no matter how long ago, or whom has a history of late payments.

I guess he holds a bit of a grudge.

Heh.  I somehow have difficulty resolving this comment from his disclaimer:
This means there may be some wear, or smudges, but nothing extreme.

with this part of the auction description:
the first volume fell apart, but all the pages (loose) are in the box

Having the item "fall apart" so it's essentially just a collection of looseleaf isn't "extreme"?

OK now...this is very wrong. Don't these people ever do a search for another set? I just don't get it.

Anybody else notice this bit of wackiness?

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Either the seller really loves the mini-game Saga, or he simply has way too much time on his hands with nothing better to do.  Either way someone should be thrown in a padded room if they were to pay $400 for it.  PDT_Armataz_01_11
