In this case I think his ire was directed more towards the poster than the postings

In bclarkie's defense, guys, you don't have to post everything you see.  "Something going cheap" does not equal "interesting", not by a long shot.

It's rather frusterating for those of us who spend a great deal of time searching, to have any minor deals we might locate placed under a spotlight for the casual passerby to see.  I don't think that was the original intention of the thread, and it has denigrated significantly in the last little while.

From the first post in this thread:

FoulFoot wrote:Use this sticky thread to post interesting auction items that may have escaped the notice of other collectors.

A better word than "interesting" would be "unusual", "seldomly-seen" or "highly-collectible".

Interesting could mean average items or a huge lot for cheap, though the Acaeum is targeted toward collectors instead of resellers.

Thank you for your thoughts on the matter but I see no problem in doing what I have been doing. I don't post everything. If it has a winning bid by a forum member that I can recognize I never post those any more.

This one is probably what others would consider "interesting" so I hope it is ok to post it.

Neither do I. Honestly, I can't even believe it's being discussed.

We're looking at a big threadjack here, and maybe the debate could be taken to a new thread or a poll or something, but I'll add a final thought before I close: just because an Acaeum member "has their eye" on a potential good find does not make them special. Nor does it make the rest of us mind-readers.

This thread has actually gotten better, IMO. Not all of the 770-plus members here are big-ticket or bucks-up collectors — speaking for us mere mortals, if someone spots a boxed set for $8 or a super-module languishing for some reason at $5, that is news I am interested in.

(Okay, that was two final thoughts, technically ...)

Possible TSR Hex Sheets, however, I don't see the TSR wizard on them, so perhaps they're something else and/or more generic hex sheets???:

Interesting feedback, though — I don't think I've ever seen so many neutrals. There's seven in the past year, versus no negatives at all ... that sort of ratio is pretty odd (says the compulsive feedback-checker).

I don't have time to browse & search as much as I want to.

No I get tweaked by people who like to play both sides of the fence. One day they complain about how there isn't any sense of community any more and then the next day they  say the exact opposite and f**k em for complaining about people losing the possiblity of a good deal.

BINGO! Its very frustrating when one spends a lot of time trying to find good deals only to have someone "per se" rat them out on a regular basis.  I am sorry for the fact that I prefer not to get into bidding wars every freakin day on every item no matter how common or mundane it is if I don't have too, but hey maybe its just me.  :?
