I actually used to have the set.  I think there was a sword with scabbard, amulet, helmet, and if my memory serves me correct a small shield.  But I could be wrong about the shield.

I remember my younger brother and I swordfighting from dawn to dusk some days.  The swords eventually bent near the hilt and cracked after awhile.  But at least they were better than the original Star Wars lightsabers.  They were inflatable and were basically attached to a flashlight.

Plus a good number of early AD&D books...

Agreed; hasn't seemed quite that quiet. Deimos is getting jaded, I think. ;)

Not jaded, but I no longer find OCE auctions very stimulating.  I think they are working on a drug for the condition -- Gygaxra, or something.

Sounds pretty jaded to me.

The trade name for the drug is Faroxifen.

Did I mention earlier the guy who was given a complete OCE set, with Swords and Spells, Greyhawk, Blackmoor, Eldritch Wizardry and Gods Demi-Gods and Heroes by an old friend, quite recently.

   Oh, wait...that was me.

Hmm... >8800979991< still looks better value-for-money.

Point. The SoCal item was really clean. Yah, the one you point at is cleaner.

Some of y'all don't realize that while serious collectors pay kilobucks for browns, whites are fast becoming the mid-range collector's target. OCEs are moving into 200-400 (US$), while original whites are passing five.

A word to the wise to investor/resellers...

That's the printing I first bought.  A classic.

This is worth quoting just so people have to read it twice and don't miss it.  I think I'm gonna be sick, though.

I don't think it's that bad yet, although it is certainly true that prices have been on the up.  I don't track these closely, but a rough completed search gives me:

unsold at $140

http://cgi.ebay.com/Dungeons-Dragons-D- ... dZViewItem

sold at $81.00

http://cgi.ebay.com/D-D-ORIGINAL-COLLEC ... dZViewItem

sold BIN at $150 (inc. all five further supplements)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ORIGINAL-Dungeons-D ... dZViewItem

I suppose we will see what happens with what's up now...  :)

I always like watching MA auctions. I was really patient in hunting one of these down and managed to snag one for only $34. This auction's already past that. And I've seen 'em go for as much as $60+.
