you well know the point: as long as the auction is fresh and newly listed and nobody has left a bid yet, why dont ask to the seller if it is possible a BIN? ...in italy we use to say: "chiedere e' lecito e rispondere e' cortesia" (transl.: asking is licit while replying is polite, but i know that in US this sounds like "asking doesnt harm" or smtg similar...)

Ya know, there was a time when these TSR (SPI-light) box games were a dime a dozen. You couldn't give the damn things away.

I have not paid much attention, but I have noticed that about a year ago the sales prices started ticking up pretty steadily. It seems they are gaining speed.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Are the UK boxes deeper than US editions?  The box in this auction looks really deep.

It does, doesn't it?  I hadn't notice that until you mentioned it.  Interesting.

Yes, they are about 50% deeper.  I don't have a measuring tape handy.

While we're on the subject, does anyone else have a UK Holmes set with Tim Kask incorrectly credited as "Tim Kast"?  I just found that this evening while looking for something else...

Or wait till the auction is over and make a private offer. Sometimes it's even better that way; you can offer the seller a super low price and they will sometimes take it.

Have pity on the relative newbie here  :)  !

I keep seeing references to "Holmes sets" (& other names) for the wooden box sets, as if they are different versions; can you all help me out and tell me (or send me to a site where) a Cliffs' Notes version of the differences in those sets? :?:

I am guessing that "Holmes" (and the other names) is an author of at least one of the books found in the sets . . . ??

Ahhh, now I see . . . it's the editors names which is being referred to; I do see changes in each edition (but I assume what was IN the rulebooks, etc. remained the same from edition to edition . . . most of the time :!: ).  Thanks NetRodent!
