Well  i just sent him a message inquiring about what the hell is going on.  I am figuring someone is trying to make a private deal, and thats bullshit if thats the case because there is no way in freaking hell he is going to get fair value for them in a lot.

Right on, let's see the accusations fly once again.  And the denials.  Great community, eh?

Actually, I believe the "eh?" originated in Wisconsin.

I don't think that it was someone trying to buy the whole lot though.   James Sink is creditted on Afterglow for a couple of finds so he obviously knows the collectibility of the stuff he listed.

Also, he took down all of his auctions including the non rare stuff like Isle of Dread.

It makes me wonder if his auctions were cancelled for something like saying he was looking for certain items and would take them as credit towards a purchase or some other obscure Ebay rule.

Really?  It may have just filtered north from there. Wisconsin is not too far away from my hometown.

Hey! Wisconsinites know that is impossible!
That's Canada which started it, and the only way to get to Wisconsin was through Minnesota or Michigan (Because I think Americans started the Polar Bear club and no one wants to swim in the great lakes most of the year)

Well that just plain sucks.  As many frickin' people that were bidding on his items you think he would have left well enough alone.  Guess I will have to wait a bit longer for that Nanorien Stones.  :x

obviously a bit of a moot exercise but anyone care to have a pop at how much they would have cost all in one hit?

Seems that I was right again in fact and to confirm what Mars said it most certainly was a private offer as I also recived an email confirming this.  I also have a very strong suspicion as to who made the offer as well, but I won't say as I am not 100% sure.

Wow. Some great items in that lot. Would have been fun bidding. I would agree, he must have been offered over $3,000. Let's face it though, there must be some multi-millionaire collectors among us. Even the highest priced items would be spare change for them.

Sorry to see that you didn't get it Stephen - it would have been nice for it to go to someone here.

ALSO.  Although I personally don't care who swiped that last lot - again, it would be nice to know that it went to someone here.

...or at the very least to know how much  8O  :D

Well, I can confirm that it is going to someone here, or at least someone who used to be here.

Well, at least there's confirmation that James Sinks is still alive.  He was very active on frp.marketplace, contributed copiously to Afterglow's site and even started a Yahoo! group to RPG collecting pre-Acaeum... then he just vanished without a trace.  I figured he passed on, literally, so I'm happy to see that he's among the living even if he is selling his nice collection.
