Depends...if you are going to open and use it then have them open it and sign it. If you want to keep it to resell later then ask them to write up some note explaining the history of the item and sign it. They might even include some notes on a missing part that got cut....how cool would that be!

Well, I cheekily offered him $1,000 for his Fazzlewood and am feeling pretty confident that I will soon be gently stroking its pages in a James Bond Evil Mastermind kind-of-way.

well we all know if them prices were somewhat more sensible, ppl would still snap em up.

but then thats prb why they are so high. they dont really need to offload it anytime quick and are quite happy to sit on it til a punter/mug comes along and takes the BIN with glee.

At GenCon he also had a few other 'big money' rares too, like Lost Tamoachan, Inverness, Dwarven Glory, etc.

The problem is this: Sure these prices are insane, but for someone who really wants one of these 'ultra-rares', where else are you gonna get one?

Sure, every blue moon one comes up on eBay, but who know show long till the next one comes up?  :?

I do want all of them, but not at that price.  I can wait. :)

Look how many woodies suddenly came out of nowhere this year.  They are more common than lots of other less rare items, they way things are going.  Eventually everything pops up at cheaper prices....or at least more realistic.

Anyone else get a bad vibe from the high bidder currently on this auction?

No real activity to speak of in over 2 years and looking at his feedback no known gaming sources. That in conjuction with the fact that the high bidder hasn't bid on any other auctions(gaming or otherwise) with the exception of PSP DVD remote in the last 30 days.  Considering that this auction is also is listed in perhaps the worst category for D&D stuff imaginable: Pre-1970 tuperware. I don't know something just doesn't feel right. :?

That's probably just the thought of vintage 36 year old tupperware.
