Glad you liked it; should make for some interesting reading.  As for Matthiessen -- I'd forgotten about that.  Will follow-up in a forthcoming PM.  :D

faro wrote:Re. relative rarity of 3rd vs. 4th, I was hoping you'd poll for the number of copies owned by Acaeum members ('though 3rds were rarer than 2nds and 1st, IIRC?!).
Anyhow, if more than 5,000/6,000 were printed, I'd be surprised. Certainly no secondary evidence, afaik, for 10k+ far less 25k.
And I've still only seen one early copy without the address label at the back of M&M.

Great suggestion.  I'll try to squeeze some info out of another poll.  Just haven't had time yet to update those rarity tables since the last poll.

Big mixed lot. Reserve not met w/ current bid of $17.37. Looks like about $30.00 shipping as well, and only to US.

Seller looks a little odd. No feedback left by previous buyers? Maybe he's cleaning out his basement . . .

You would, too, if you had to rent a truck for shipping.

I can't believe there are people with that sort of budget. Maybe us UK bods should pool our funds and divy up the spoils afterwards.

My money's on it going to someone who hasn't placed a bid yet, and it clearing 10K.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

If this is a real auction(which I doubt) I will find the 10k somewhere, maybe even fly there to pick it up personally!

Could you drop me a note with each item and a price to show how you get to $10k there, Jeff? :)

(Looks like a wonderful way to increase the dollar-haul, IMO).

This is the most retarded thing I have ever seen.  I take it you guys are reading the questions and answers at the bottom?

Q: Would you sell the lot for $100?
A: Elroy works nights and sleeps days, so I have ask him when he gets up off the sofa. God Bless!

Q: Can you send this item M-bag??
A: Kind sir or mam, may I ask why on earth you would call me M-bag? That doesnt sound very nice! Of course I will send them!! To the winner!!

Q: Hi there, I was looking to see if you would now be willing to settle for ending the auction early now and selling it all to me for $100.01. I had heard that you were willing to sell everything for $100, so I figured that I would be happy to at least pay a whole penny more. Also, if you have some silly piece of crap module called Up the Garden Path, I would happily take that off your hands for an extra 30 pounds. Cheers, Brian
A: After recieving several viceous emails, that deal is off. Thank you sir, and God Bless!!

Either the seller is some backwards, country-hick or they are some evil bastard trying to take people for a ride.  I hope to hell this is genuine just because I would hate to see someone out several thousand dollars.

Note that the calendar will read 4/1 in just three days - half-way through the auction...

Well. Looks like someone got to her. If they were real, they'll either be listed separately or they'll be winging their way to a private sale. If it's a fake, it was a pretty stupid one, and the only person who springs to mind who has a big problem with collectors is old MaxiPad.
