No way...I would never post a post and say nothing.  I mean, I always have something to say, or some point to make.  I would never just post something and then blather about nothing.     :)

Never.

killjoy32 wrote:i dont have problems re the cost of an item - if its what i want, i will pay the cost, simple as that.

its just a shipping issue.

a while back i wanted to get from them a JG journal 1 - which for anyone who has it, is like 1 sheet of ppaer . you can ship that airmail with a carded back for buttons....even GPM for appx $10?

so what do they charge... first off they said $23. when i complained to them, it was a little less.

next off just very recent, a JG instalment K booklet, which weighs next to nothing...shipping cost $13! crock of sh*t lemme tell you.

i could prb buy a dozen and have em shipped together and it wouldnt be this much.

THIS is how they are making a kill and i think they will continually get away with it, sadly.

THAT is why i will never ever purchase from them again.

if they had sensible combined shipping, then i buy lots from them all the time, but lets face it, you know thats not gonna happen in a month of sundays.

remember mark's "genius" thing a few weeks ago? low cost of item, massive shipping.

here is a perfect example of "genius" - right there in front of us.

Grrr.. this is happening to me at the moment, usually they aren't that bad but $31 for sea mail is high-way robbery for 9 small mags! (quote: "I have a shipping department to pay for") That and they take about a WEEK to answer emails!! I've asked them to tell me exactly what the split up for the costs are and funny enought I haven't heard from them in a week.... I've even asked what the costs are going to be if shipped to a US address Irecon get air mail from there at less costs than sea mail to my place direct... if you are going to charge like a wounded bull for shipping at least say so (like their auctions ) Oh.. and no more M-bags by the way, aparently they have been charged back for loss of them or some such... (that doesn't overly worry me) They would get so many more sale if they didn't do this...

Slightly annoyed...

Think I just may cut and paste his post in another thread and email the sucker to them!

Tonya is now listing less, and her new assistant I think will turn things around.

However, of note:  $13 is the usual price for any international item that is light (say a "Fighters Handbook" or less in size.  $15 for a larger book, or a hardcover.

Part of this is the way eBay works.  The seller gets to quote one rate for international airmail (and one for surface, if they want).  You cannot quote by the destination (which is STUPID) so if you quote $9 cause you can ship it to Canada for $7, then you are screwed when a customer in China buys it.

Fortunately, most buyers don't argue about S&H fee's.  Unfortunately, making a stupid mistake like saying an A1 module is $32 to ship internationally is  careless mistake, but makes one look really stupid, or greedy.  And, Tonya is not stupid (and not OVERLY greedy).

Anyway, I suspect that the new eBay seller Tonya is using will do a MUCH better job of keeping those stupid mistakes to a minimum.

I don't believe that they are stupid, quite the contrary as a matter of fact.  I think that there is absolutely no doubt that they are manipulative and perhaps the most greedy sellers of RPGs out there.  I thinks that its entirely possible that they may even more greedy than the Coug in a lot of situations.  Titan Games selling motto should be, "If you buy from us, we will try to get every single penny that is humanly possible from you before you finally decide to never deal with us again" and thier buying motto should be, ""If you sell to us, we will try to get every single penny that is humanly possible from you before you finally decide to never deal with us again".

I mean lets be pretty clear here, Titan Games is a scam, period. If they wanted to, they could go above board and add $3.00 to all of their starting bids and charge the proper amount of shipping, but then they not only lose the potential of that bidding war that is more prone to occur when auctions start at lower prices, but also the potential bidder who does not factor in the outrageous S&H charges when they are bidding.

I think overseas bidders might best steer clear of Titan.

Also, purchasers of multiple products have nothing to gain from dealing with Titan.

Single purchases of low price items, shipped within the US, is the only way that dealing with either of them makes sense.

In no way am I defending TG, but quoting overseas shipping on anything that weighs more than a couple pounds sucks.

Just today I shipped four lousy Dungeon mags using the GPM box and it cost me $23!!!!! This after I used usps.com and got quoted $16? So I got screwed out of the $7 difference. I swear I just sent the same box and weight to Australia and it was around $16. I guess the Dungeon mags could have weighed an extra ounce or two...bang, add $7.

I have been shipping ebay stuff for almost 7 years and international items that have weight are the single worst things to deal with. 95% of the time I get it right. But it sure does suck ass when I get it wrong.

Shipping modules and the like in GPM large envelopes is easy and I simply use a standard charge, usually $10-14 based on location. Yeah, it might be 50 cents too high, but I am not going to mess around with it. Plus, I hate going through the absolute pian in the ass customs form and the extra time I have to stand and wait at the post office because international stuff always takes longer to process.

That said. I never buy anything unless I have shipping costs nailed down in stone.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Bbarsh,

GPM Variable weight is calculated in 8 ounce increments.  Also, the rates vary per country.  Just by a cheap, $3.00 kitchen scale at Target and go to www.usps.com.  Slap your GPM box on the scale and the items going in it - add 4 oz (or so) for packaging and send an invoice.  When in doubt - overcharge to the next highest class and if it sneaks by at the lower rate, then send a paypal refund for $2.00.

Couldn't myself have better it said.

Honestly, I hope TG did get broken into. I'd be thrilled to see them go out of business. Scumbags like Titan aren't people I'll ever do business with again. It's really dissapointing to hear that folks here do do business with them, even knowing what they regularily do to folks.

I bought from Tonya exactly once, before I was a regular at the Acaeum, and got astoundingly screwed on the shipping cost. I don't recall the details, but I think it was around $12 for a $3 shipping, and the item arrived beat up because the packaging sucked. I'd have stopped doing business with them after the BS "I'm a poor college girl selling gaming stuff to get by!' came to light, but the seriously heinous policies they've got for everything else sealed it.

Like others said, this sounds like just yet another scam on their part.

Piss on Titan Games and Tonya. Sounds like Kharma in effect. You would think if they took the time to post on here, then maybe they would take the time to actually read and learn something. Total shitbags... I always immediately hit the back button when I see their name on the Auction Page.

Ditto and ditto. I wish they'd use something distinctive like Coug's "VGC" so that I could avoid their auctions entirely.

I just bought multiple items from Tonya's Swap Shop/TonyAssWapShop.

*ducks*

On a related note, Titan Games/Tit-An'-Games has a new shipping person.

Are they going to increase the ridiculous shipping even more then?

I don't get why people are willing to buy from sellers who routinely screw over buyers and constantly lie.
