Quick Poll. When was the last time you played D&D (any version)?

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

I'm involved in two 2nd edition campaigns (one in Greyhawk and one in the Forgotten Realms) and we generally play about 3 times a month.  The DM is the same in both campaigns and actually runs three different campaigns; two 4-person campaigns set in different parts of the Forgotten Realms and the Greyhawk campaign which combines the two sets of players in one very large party.

Played last month cause my bud lives in Utica. But this weekend, in between me fixing his computer and us getting fitted for tuxs, we'll be playing AD&D. :D

I would play more if i could find players.

I played last weekend for the first time in months. Spent as much time reminiscing as anything but I loved it.

That said...I just picked up two new players last week. One is a 1st-timer so he's reding the PH right now. As soon as he's finished, we're kicking off a new campaign. Best thing is, the other guy is older than me and been playing even longer than I have. He's also an experienced DM and this should give me a chance to be on the the other side of the table for the first time in over two years. On top of that, wonder of wonders, he runs a home-blend almost just like mine. Must be fate.

Now, I just have to dig out those old character sheets...Hmmm, I know they're here somewhere...

PLAYED, I think it was at Origins in the late '90s.

DM, every Tuesday night online. Continuous since 1992. Live weekly or more often from 1976-1988. I think the 4-year interregnum was a brief retreat into reality...

How does one DM online?  Is it through some sort of special software, or just lots of emails etc..?

Well, I chose sometime in the 80's, but now that I really think about it, it was probably 1990.

How's that for a drought?

In the early 90's I played online using irc and die rolling bots.

There are also specialized websites such as Rondak's Portal that make it relatively easy to play online.  I've never used Rondak's Portal but one of my friends speaks highly of it.

I play once a week. This week it was yesterday. Nice session, though it ran somewhat off-track. Damn inept thieves which get themselves caught!

I picked the long, long time ago...option. Like Beyond, it was around 1990-2.

I have played a few wargames with the gang from time to time, but no D&D.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Neverwinter Nights — all the time. It's great to "play" with members of the old group when none of us are even in the same time zone.

As far as pen and paper D&D, it was a one-off session in the fall of 2000. Before that, it had been years and years ...

We've been on AOL, with private chatrooms & a diceroller in the system.
//roll -diceD -sidesS  (eg //roll -dice3 -sides20)

We outlasted AOL's online gaming forums by several years.

So long ago it makes me sad to think about it. The curse of CCGs and MMORPGs have caught me and the groups I used to play with. Someone would always try and coordinate a session but things always feel through. Had to kill the AoW, or prepare for the next MtG tournament.

Played my friend's 3E Forgotten Realms game a week and a half ago, and we play again on Sunday.  My 3E Eberron game I run is on the 11th.  I'd like to play some BECMI, but no one here plays that version anymore.

There are no bad editions of D&D, just Boring Players and Unimaginative DMs.
