Ok, I'm not posting this one to report the guy, more for illustration purposes.  Here's an example of copyright violation that doesn't leave quite the same bad taste in your mouth as a guy making 100 PDFs and trying to hawk them for a quick buck:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 72782&rd=1

The last picture is a photocopy of a WoG folio (early print, too!) made 20+ years ago.  In my mind, it's an artifact unto itself at this point.  What do you folks think?

WoG folios are pretty easy to find. Imo, it's no different than photocopying any of the old books.

He's also including a CD with books on it. :(

Pretty damn blatant.  He's a newbie at 50% feedback, I'm guessing it'll drop from there.

LOL! He's at 1 positive, 1 neutral ("We appreciate your business!" .. and he got a NEUTRAL with that comment, lol!), and his negative.

Seems like a real winner.

Nope. Copyrighted material ... 1 cent bids, but $4.99 shipping (for nice, even $5 sales) ... "please pay ASAP" ... three-day listing (hoping not to get caught before then) ... item will be, no doubt, sent on cheapest CD-R available ... there are red flags all over this situation.

Check out the seller's other items, too. It looks like CDs, books, other forms of media — all protected by copyright and all being sold with the .01/4.99 plan. This guy's a scam artist, pure and simple.

eBay

This one is kinda interesting. He's offering links to information, rather than providing the information. An odd wrinkle, and one I'm not really sure how to get eBay to act upon. Providing details about stuff like Feats that aren't in the SRD is violating copyright.

Firstly I'm not accusing this guy of doing anything illegal, or of knowingly selling illegal PDFs. My question is this... Does anyone know anything about Imprint Multimedia? They publish the Ares Magazine and Universe Archives and now the White Dwarf archive.

cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIte ... eName=WDVW

My initial impression was that this was a home made 'illegal' product, but I have copies of the new White Dwarf archive and it has a more proffesional feel about it.

So....
Are they an Australian publishing house?
Are they reputable?
Are they likely to have been licensed to release Ares and Universe?
If so, maybe they were in a position to have been producing the WD archive when it was pulled.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.
