No differences, besides the art on the box.

Unless somebody went through both boxes page by page.....

The covers of the manuals, in the latter edition, are framed.

There is a print in between those two also. It has the later artwork but is missing the red lettering "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons", among other things.
I havent compared the contents page by page though.

I also think the binding of the various books are different. I find the earlier print 2nd ed books to be nicer. I also find the artwork on the later print to be horrible, but that's just personal taste...
