If the French put as much effort into making babies as making riots, they wouldn't have so many problems....it's hard to burn cars and McDonalds after a strenuous day of lovemaking.

Actually the country with the lowest birthrate in Europe is also one of the most Catholic historically. I think this is still true. Could be wrong. I'm wrong alot alot more often when my missus is about for some reason? Dunno what that's all about :D

(Spain for all those wondering)

Greece? ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4739154.stm )

Was surprised to see Spain so far down the list, though.

As is the country with the highest birthrate (Ireland).

Actually, looking at Europe specifically, there is quite an accurate correlation between high country birthrate and countries that I have visited or lived in.  I have spent proportionally more time in N. European countries and Eastern Europe in recent years... and voila!  Hmm, maybe a letter to New Scientist is in order.

It is a "coup bas" , a blow under the belt (my family birthrate would decrease this night after this)

Guess my request for advice belongs under here.

I bid on an auction that I didn't win.  Then an ebayer with the ID mikefred sends me a message through ebay that he also has the same item in excelleant condition that he would be willing to sell me for my top bid plus 3 bucks S&H.

Sounds like a deal I would be willing to take, but I was a touch concerned that this was unsolicited and was wondering why he wouldn't just list the item.  Then if something did go wrong I don't even have a feedback path to address the issue.

What do you guys think?  Take the deal or is it too risky?

Have him make you a Second Chance Offer through ebay, then you have all of the usual protections and feedback options.

Mikefred has been going wild on ebay in the last few weeks.  I am not sure who he is, but he is bidding on just about everything and every big lot.  (Hmm, I guess I am too . . . oh well . . .  :D )

Anyway, his feedback is great - I wouldn't be surprised if he has many doubles & triples the way he is going.

Three bucks shipping?  The item you wanted?  Offer to pay via PayPal and take your chances.  Unless it was really expensive I would guess you won't be sorry.

Received the R1 Prepub today from Frank (ExTSR). 8)

Fantastic shape, not a blemish. Shipping was quick & great. Almost didn't want to open the shrink it was sent in.

Absolutely fantastic seller - get the feeling I was happy with it yet? :D

Oh by the way if there's still any of the 'shrink-ophiles' out there: new to EBay "shrink: done by the legendary Frank Mentzer" for sale (only kidding)

Thanks Frank.

Has anybody had any experience with [email protected]?

He approached me with a private sale and I like to know if anybody has dealt with him offline before

The name sounds very familiar, but I don't remember any specific transactions. I am usually a bit leery of AOL addresses.
