The folks who run this convention have signed a 2 or 3 year extension deal to stay in Indianapolis.  I do not know anymore than that.  But for those who do not know, we (indy) are building a new football stadium and will tear down the RCA Dome when it is finished.  In place of the RCA Dome will go expanded Convention space.  Also more hotels are being built very close to the convention center.

Time frame for the new football stadium is 2008.  Time frame for new convention space is 2010.

I say move GenCon to Seattle.  Yes, my precious, Seattle.

Only problem with that would be we'd have to listen to all of the complaints about bad calls made by DMs during the tourneys.

Only if the DMs MAKE bad calls!

Only if the DMs decide beforehand who is supposed to win the tournament!

*Begins long tirade with fits of apoplexy*

Speaking of conventions, I was updating my list/links last night and was sorry to discover that it appears Advantage Convention (GameFest series, including Milwaukee) has gone under.

Ahh, the refs blew calls on both sides, if Seattle would have won the game, it would have been the same deal on then other side.

BTW, in case no one noticed that was #5. :P

Dullest game in the history of organized football ... I was so desperate for entertainment during the second half that I was trying to find a cricket telecast on BBC America.

Back to the topic: Seattle is a nice place (I spent some time there in my college days), but the big conventions are just a better fit for the Midwest. And Indianapolis is perfect: it's big, but not a totally intimidating metropolis. I've travel to Indy once per year on business, and I usually have a great time.

Sorry, Mike, but I think it's still 2-1 Steelers over Cowgirls.
