I received this morning the 'paperback edition' of the D&D Basic Set. The book has been published by TSR UK in 1986 and not by Garden City Press. More clearly, Garden City Press is the tipography where the book was physically produced, but not the publisher (that was TSR UK Ltd.). The page count is 272. The text has ome 'original' content: "How to use this book" (page 6), which has mentions of all D&D sets, from Expert to Immortal; "What Now" (page 271) mentioning not just the modules but the D&D Expert Set and the AD&D game; lastly, chapter 14 "Creating Dungeons" has examples of modules using the theme suggested: for example, the entry "Exploring the Unknown" mentions the
B3 module.
I'm of course very pleased about this book. Its conditions are far better than what I thought seeing the auction image used by the seller.
