Has anyone put together a set of this at all?

At the moment I'm looking for a list of what people think they should use for the pieces? I remember that in a issue not long after #100 (maybe a couple of issues I think) people talked about what pieces they would use for what... (102, 103??) I remember I bought a lot of pieces direct from ? (if someone find the article its the manfacturer of the unicorn) as a special order.... I've always wanted to put one of these sets together, I even drew a sketch of my "dream" board.. something I think that could only be made in a place like Thailand from a wood carver there...

Brette:)

Pretty neat. I've wanted to make a custom chess board myself, based on "Viking chess" since that's my favorite.

Stormber bought the original set, and iirc he's got quite a collection of minis so we should hit him up for some pics.

I'm sure she could whip up some more boards...I'll see what she thinks about it.

My wife is at a point with her production load where she can produce some sets in the near future.  Doug suggested I run a Dutch auction on RPG Marketplace, which sounds like a brilliant plan.  Please note, the cost of glass has risen substantially since the last set was made in 2005 (particularly the cost of red glass, for some reason), while at the same time supplies of some shades and types of glass have dwindled.  Therefore, it might take some time to get the materials, depending on the number of orders (5 have indicated interest so far).  We're working on a price including UPS shipping within the US, and I'll update when we've got that worked out.

Yes, just put the item at RPGMarkeplace.com as a dutch auction with XX number available (whatever number she is willing to make). Then set them with a BIN only and then people can just place orders.

You can set them all as Paypal Offline so you can send individual invoices with freight.

Just a basic "ordering system" of sorts.

What's a dutch auction again??  Is it the same as multiple sets available with BINs, or is there some nuance I'm missing here?

Yes, you can list an item with a BIN and show 25 available, people can buy 1 or more at the BIN price

Hi Allan,

We just received a huge shipment of glass for the boards, and will get a Dutch auction posted on RPG Marketplace as soon as we can get the price inclusive shipping nailed down.  It's going to be higher than I initially indicated (cost of everything has gone up, including glass and shipping, since Paul bought his set).  Thanks for asking, and stay tuned.
