Is it a scam?  This has happened before, of course.  Who did the offer come from?

I wouldn't touch that with a regulation 10' pole.

From the start that auction just whiffed of bad news...

khanivorous > the carnivorous wrath of khan?

Keep an open mind and don't jump on Khan just yet. I have received a number of these offers and my bulk mailbox gathers a few spoofs a week proposing "fake" questions like:

"In answer to your questions, the Mickey Mantle rookie card is in absolute MINT condition and is being sold at a reduced price as I need the cash quickly."

If you go to ebay and search by the item number, it brings up something totally different . . .

They are usually scams from people pretending to be another ebay user. Forward it to [email protected] and they can tell if it originated from the actual seller or from a different source.

I get quite a few phishing emails.  I'm not sure, but I think any legitimate email sent from one eBay customer to another will show up under the email section under your My Account.  In any event, I always email the original seller to confirm the offer.

Good point, tfm, it will definitely be under your "my messages" if it is legit.  I never thought of that.

Absolutely. Don't be a fool. We all know Harami and addermcone are rock solid.

It is defintiely a scam and certainly NOT the only one. The seller from the Titan that I placed a bid for on behalf of Mike<mdr003> just emailed me today warning me of the same thing. I havent gotten the second chance offer yet, but apparently other have. :x

yes, file under "phishing scam". Doesn't even have an attached eBay userID that I can ask eBay "support" to boot off the system... :(

It's definitely a scam. I've already sent payment, just awaiting delivery :)
