*g*. I hadn't expected a response. Thanks :)

Yes; I'd guessed 2. & 3.

Agreed. And not just on the high-$ items.

> 2. Focus. I'm holding out for 2 other items (see previous PMs).

Yep; and you picked up the other two I was looking for. 8)

> 3. Condi. If I'm going to lay out for one of the Rares, I'm going to try for complete, at least, and mint, at best.

Could argue that even that 3-hole punched Tsoj was more "complete".

And I'd've been reluctant to have gone above $250 (or whatever I stated at the time!) on that.

> By the way, in case you were put off by my last PM, I inquired because, if true, we have more in common than I thought. Details forthcoming...

*purrs?*

Yeah, that one's true; or rather was true (past tense). Amongst other such related matters.

d'ya think we've got 'em confuzzled yet? :P

@ Deimos & Brian. Either of you could've bid over the $800 mark, that time... (As could I, alas).

Oh, that last bit was a ref. to one of Frank's Invernesses on the 'bay...

As to the rest, well :)

Oh, I remember that. The one that did not meet the reserve, right. :)

Well, allow me to explain myself, in a manner of speaking.  See newest PM.

Getting soap opera-ish.......

I understand where Stephen is coming from, though. I would want a complete one too. Of course, ANY Pharaoh is good, but to shell out 800+ I'd have to have a complete one.

Actually, I think things turned out rather nicely all the way around on the Pharaoh.  I made a nice, quick profit and since I was the one auctioning it, everyone was very aware of it's condition.

If the first seller's auction had run through it's normal course, I think it very likely it would have went for higher and some collector would have been very disappointed - having to either decide to try and return it, take the loss, etc.

Questions to the original seller about its condition and completeness notwithstanding, it's very probable they wouldn't have noticed or remarked on the missing page.

Agreed Paul, and quite pleased with the final price, despite the condition :!:
