Wow, very nice. Thanks for the heads-up.

+++++

(Side note: Not to take anything away from this creator, but DarkSeraphim's Excel list is still the most impressive fan-produced item I've ever seen.)

Uh-oh. The author's admission, on page 2, that he's actively involved in the underworld of photocopying modules, won't go over too well with many folks here ... :?

I assume that's a checklist of items the author has. It's far from complete if it's meant to be a collector's checklist. I've not looked for any of the other ares, but ST1 doesn't seem to be there. The author clearly isn't a collector, and if he is, he probably hasn't been doing it for more than a month or two.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

No, it is complete as far as basic information goes. Obviously, this is not a list that will appeal to the Acaeum power collectors (for instance, he doesn't distinguish between various prints of many items), but it is a very nice list for the average collector. I've already printed it out; I also just re-ordered ink from Amazon ... :)

As far as ST1 goes ... sorry, but who cares? The 40 people in the world who have one already know they have it; the other 10,000 collectors who will find this checklist useful don't even need it to be mentioned.

I wonder about our obsession with the rares sometimes ... :?

... although the author DOES seem to be aware that "the rares" do exist. The Acaeum, complete with a link, is mentioned on the first page.

Okay. ST1 is not considered a collectable D&D module. What about Jade Hare? Is that not D&D either?

You obviously want this to be something it is not. As I mentioned before, the super-elite Acaeum crowd will not find this to be a useful checklist. The other 99 percent of us in Niche-Corner-Of-Niche-Hobby Land, though, will find this to be a very useful tool. It's important to us peasants to have an accurate, readable list of modules, boxed sets, rulebooks, etc. And, hey, it's got the orange B3 on there, which is just about as high as most of us will dare to dream ...

Two final thoughts:

The guy who compiled the damn thing wrote:If you think any items are missing, please mail me at [email protected]

1. It would appear your complaints could be addressed by going straight to the source.

2. It seems the height of irony to blast a free-for-the-taking checklist after many Acaeum members contributed to a recent thread that discussed the difficulties of keeping track of their collections.

That is why I posted this thing. Someone was asking about a checklist and I stumbled upon this one. So...I just posted for those interested.

I did NOT post it for people to take pot shots at it. I think it was a nice effort for a basic checklist.

Incidentally, Ravellock is a member of the forum here, and has been a prolific contributor to the main site (primarily to the Foreign Editions section) for many years now.  While he's not an "elite collector", he's certainly been a great help in compiling information.

thanks for the link! This is potentially a very dangerous PDF for me... :p

The party awakens in a place where there is no light and no sounds but their own. Characters with infravision can ascertain that all party members are presented. The place they are in looks and feels like a natural cave, about 30 feet in diameter.

At this point, I haven't the slightest idea. I got my copy (the Excel version, that is; there were also Word versions) as a "bonus" in an eBay win.

However, I don't feel comfortable speaking for Dark, who appears to be taking it easy on the collecting front (no eBay sales since July; no posts here since June). Frankly, if he is as retired as it appears, the list might have retired with him ...
