Are your bbcodes enabled in your profile? Because you seem to have applied the proper code.

Image

or eliminate the last bit of info after the gif portion of your url. It was funking with my effort as well.

that is very cool, richard! I think I had previously seen that at the DF boards.  :D

I can't find the image from teh 1988 or so TSR catalog that had a parody cover for PHB. It is one of the more recreated of all TSR images for sure.

It's the carriage return before the end tag that messes it up!

Tramp stuff, Otus stuff . . . . not much.

I know that Tramp still owns all of the original art he did for the WORMY strip, but nothing else. I know of a number of inks in collections, plus one or two color pieces - but no full paintings.

Pretty much the same with Erol - a number of inks around, but no paintings (except the Deities & Demigods cover, of course).

Did Erol actually sell that one away, Pat? I know where it went but didn't know if he had it originally.

Why these things interest me....I dont know.  :D

Pat, does that mean that you've been able to successfully talk with Trampier??? 8O

Pat has a very powerful 10th level Collector spell called Speak with 1e Artists. There is no defense and unlimited range with very few examples of successful savingthrows.

Not sure if these will replace my previous selections but I had forgotten about these until TSR (oops sorry WotC) was so nice to post them. Who can't love the evil halfling....even if he is not what he seems.

I cant see any signature on the art for Room11 or Room4...does anyone know who did those?

Marlith: they look like Roslof to me but I'm not 100% sure.

I should've mentioned Willingham in my earlier list of favorite 1E artists.

Hey that art gallery is cool. I'd never seen the back cover of the mono version. It's always nice to see a "new" Otus!

Looks like the party is the same one as in room 17 and 23 illustrations. The gallery is missing the Otus Efreet(s) from the last page.

I think I'll pick Otus' map for WPM as my top 1E visual. They should've had a map like this in every module!

Both are Roslof's, Marlith. The sigs show up in WhPlMt mod.

I agree with you Zhowar!

I haven't been that into the mono modules previously. I used to have G2 and  D3 but I sold them on Ebay years ago. But lately I've been more interested in the artwork differences.

Can anyone tell me who's artwork is on the back of the following mono modules?

B1 -

C1 -

D1 -

D2 -

D3 -

G1 -

G2 -

G3 -

S1 -

S2 - Otus - adventurers approaching White Plume Mtn

T1 -

Also, which monos have different interior artwork?

Thanks!

See if I had pulled my copy out I would have known that or been able to figure it out. Just surprised they did not include in the image as they did on most of the others. Thank you for the information!

Well, here's what I've come up with so far:

B1 - Sutherland

C1 - whoever signs with :| in a little square...Erol Otus?

D1 - Sutherland

D2 - Sutherland

D3 - Trampier

G1 - Trampier ?

G2 - Trampier ?

G3 - Trampier

S1 - Sutherland

S2 - Otus - adventurers approaching White Plume Mtn

T1 - DAT = Trampier?

Interesting signature on front cover of B1, too: "DIS & DAT".

Thanks, deimos.

If that little square is a fused EO, then it's Otus.

Many of the pictures here have the EO sig:

http://jrients.tripod.com/otus/otusbasic.htm

That EO was what made Otus the first artist I became of aware of on a name basis back in the 80s. We noticed the EO on the painting of the Keep on the back of B2 and at first thought it was part of the Keep (perhaps a prison cell?). Then we realized the artist's name was Erol Otus and EO was his signature. And then we started looking at all of the other artwork in other modules for the 'EO'.

DAT is David A. Trampier.

I noticed that DIS and DAT before. I just googled +Trampier +"dis and dat" and found this:

"I certainly remember him fondly. Sutherland and Trampier (DCS and DAT, or as we used to call them, "dis and dat") were the primier artists at the beginning of it all. First Trampier disappears mysteriously and now this."
