Eight hours to learn to play D'n'D? You can teach the rules but you can't teach roleplaying...I introduced my friend Amanda years ago to roleplaying and she was a natural. In four weeks of playing her character and mine (the group leader) has such a tempestuous relationship we were screaming at each other in character, slamming doors and storming out of the room in real life etc. Great fun but I don't reckon you can teach that part of the game :)

I actually live about 20 minutes south of the college, if you take 495 to the Cape you go right through/by it  on the way  :D

I did find out more info about that class, it was at Stonehill College, not BSC,  and the class was called Fantasy Adventures. It was part of a summer program called "College Academy".

From what my sons friend told me yesterday they were allowed to role up any character, the equipment was pretty much pre-determined by the teacher, and there was no gold given out. Basically he sent them on small scenarios and the last class he split them into two groups and threw them in an arena and let them duke it out  8O

Cool, I am very familiar. :)   I have spent probably 27 summers up there on vacation. Basically, my whole mother's side of the family lives up there.  I have and I am still very seriously considering making the move up there. :) It is defintely one of my favorite places in the world. :D
