I would be interested in hearing what David's snipe was, I'll bet it wasn't anywhere near $250.00.

Was more than the $71.79 you sniped at (and lost on) this time around. :?

Personally, I'm not too fussed about name stamps on books, but wasn't complaining to pick up that previous copy without those for less; http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 8700680725

as everyone knows, there is a fair smattering of R modules on ebay atm. these ones have just finished:

R1: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %3AIT&rd=1

R2: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %3AIT&rd=1

R3: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %3AIT&rd=1

all went to the same buyer - well done that man!

what do y'all think of the winning bids? par for the course? under/over?

i've seen a few sell for less than that, so think the seller will be quite happy tbh.

Looks reasonable to me, I have paid more and less for equivalent items.

yeah i thought that too - was watching the others that are up - their values are quite steady and i have no doubt they will go up from what they are right now.

notice that creep is ummm crawling all over one (pun sorta intended there :D)

its nice to see them holding very steady value-wise.

of all the stuff i have - i really like the R mods.

I agree, a little overpriced at $635.00 and still did not make the reserve.

Dan, you should face the fact that it is not worth $600+. It's not that no one loves you, it's that it is beat to shit. 2nd prints come up a few times a year, unlike 1sts.
Now, had you tried to sell it here in a private sale, I think you might have gotten $600 for it.

Hey, I did not know that parental outrage caused TSR to change the cover of the DMG 8O

Don't believe everything you read on the internet.  Especially eBay.  (Or I've got a RARE!! Fiend Folio to sell you...)

When I posted pix earlier this year, the consensus was that it was in the $600-800 range and I set my reserve accordingly.  I could've used the brutal honesty earlier; this reality thing really sucks.
FWIW, if the lowered reserve isn't met this time, I'll post a "best offer" on this forum.

Dan, the recent 2nd print auction by the burnie brothers and Paul's multiple 1st print auctions during the same period might have taken some of the wind out of the sails of enthusiasm on the boards here.  You never know who's out there; sometimes these auctions really crank up in the last minute.

I am the one who actually gave you that figure, although David<harami2000> disagreed a bit and put a figure of between $400-$500 on it.  With that being said, your 1stauction did not meet the reserve and the bid was $635.00, so the $600-$800 range was pretty close to the mark. :)

well considering there have been a few floating around of late, i felt that david's figure was prb about right. its one of them, that if you'd have sat on it for a while, i think the interest could well have cranked up again, but owing to your unfortunate circumstances, that cant be the case.

i still think what its up to atm, is still a very good price for it  :? but then with frank mentioning about selling it here, that may well have been your best option tbh.

oh well anyway, best of luck with whatever it sells for - hopefully it will end up with a good price - these things tend to wait til the last 10 seconds anyway, when everyones snipes tend to come charging in :D
