I agree you are way too serious ... you need to chill out

Seriously don't sweat it you always have your friends here!  Besides here is a forum which isn't about NWN yet look how much knowledge has been already shared.

In the mean time I say Post, Post Post

I have a question.  How do you guys find the time to play games like NWN?

Given that alot of us are past 30 with partner, kids and work commitments squeezing in time to play Oblivion on the XBOX is damn near impossible.

I take the time on weekends and evenings and yes, piss the wife off by doing so.
We have no kids though, otherwise I never would have had the time to even start this danged obsession......

NWN the new addiction.  8)

That's a fair question. For me, it helps that I work from home and that I have a "slow season" (roughly mid-November through late January). I'd say I've done about half of my NWN-ing during those slow weeks.

I also play on airplanes, in hotel rooms, and anything else having to do with business trips. For instance, I completed half of the Pirates of the Sword Coast premium module just by flying to Hawaii. :)

Sorry, my slang detector isn't catching that one. Does that mean "what do you do for a living?"

Public relations, along with professional writing and editing services.

I was a newspaper/magazine guy for 14 or 15 years, and most of my clients are people I knew from back in those days (or else people that they refer to me). I haven't gotten rich yet, but, OTOH, I haven't actually been inside an office since October of 2004. Woot! :)

I am assuming that The Character builder helps you to deside the best way to build a specific type of charcter and what skills and other class specifc things you should choose and when?

Is that correct?

PM me your email address and I'll send you the character build word doc that I used for progressing through the first 3 modules (NWN,SoU,HotU). This guy is the best all around hack and slash tank you can build. Takes you to 20th level in the build process with suggestions for the epic levels after that. He ends up being a 9th Fighter, 1st Bard, 10 Red Dragon Disciple. Building him trough Epic levels he becomes a quisinart

Also if you go online to the NWN site you can buy and download the Infinite Dungeons expansion which lets you start at first and work up to 40 or start at 40 and try to survive, lots o fun. Plus yuo can get some proficiency in character build without going through any plot details (different dungeons every time!)

After the kids and wife go to bed I will break out the laptop and get an hour or so in once or twice a week when I am into it. Then again, I go weeks or months without touching it.  On most nights, everyone is sleeping by 9:30, so I get an hour or two in.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

You just have got to get the wife into gaming.  =)

My husband and I love to find stuff we can play together, played through the basic NWN game last year and will probably get the diamond edition (or whatever it's called) one of these days and play through some expansions.  Right now we're playing "City of Heroes", by my choice, just because I needed something NOT in the fantasy stereotype for awhile.  =)

We play for awhile most nights after the kidlet goes to bed, except on Saturday (Poker Night!)

Lol yeah, got a big group we play with every week basically without fail, we're trying to "recruit" some of our poker friends to join us in our geekly pursuits since we don't have a regular gaming group for D&D or the like.

Thanks for the advice.  So how do both of you play NWN at the same time?  Two PCs?

In my case I think I am going to have to find a way of breaking her into games first.  Think of getting a Wii with its unique controllers which might interest her.

At the moment I am trying to convince her it is OK for her to go to bed alone so I can stay up and play games

:o

D&D flipper, on ebay.fr.
Link

This guy live very closed to me, but I really doubt that my girlfriend will appreciate that new item.
But with that item, I become a 'big gun'   ... maybe.

Is that the same flipper you have got in the US?
Have a great superbowl, folks.

That one item is bigger than my entire collection  8O

So I guess that would definitely make you a big gun or even a grandmaster  Maybe even a grandmaster at D&D pinball!

Just walked past the American Chamber of Commerce having a superbowl party at Crown Casino.   All I could hear was loud American voices yelling and screaming.  Somethings never change
