The change in how rapidly some auctions "take off" is also a relatively recent phenomenon, owing to certain bidders.

Makes for an interesting combination with the "must win" mindsets towards the auctions' end.

Take a look at Tyson's and Lumberjacques' recent Tsojconth auctions.  You might have predicted the winning bid on Tyson's with fairly high accuracy, but Lumber's went through two irruptions, making it far more difficult - if not impossible - to predict the winning bid.  So the question is, will this one follow the "Tyson model" or the "Lumber model"?  I'm betting on the former.  I'm gonna run a forecast model on the data and come up with an estimate of the final bid (with confidence limits, of course).
