I'm auctioning four Xignals newletters (produced for the Waldenbooks Otherworlds club) on Ebay, and I noticed that volume 9 (1984) mentions this booklet.
It's in the "Acid Test" column by Peter Heck (a regular column in each issue) and says:
"We get a fair number of letters asking for tips on breaking in as a writer. Let me pass along two items of interest: first of all, Amazing Stories puts out a booklet called "Constructing Scientifiction & Fantasy," with more sound advice than I could pack into a year's worth of Xignals. They'll send you a copy for $2.00 (a ridiculous bargain): the address is Amazing, P.O. Box 110, Lake Geneva, WI 53417-0110."
In case you are wondering, the other item of interest was a writer's contest sponsored by L. Ron Hubbard.
