Sigh, I was once in London, Ontario.  Took a trip there to hit a used bookstore, that  supposedly had an OOP bok a friend f mine was seeking.  That was back when I lived in Michigan.  We never found the store, now I wish we had looked longer.  I might have gotten lucky (though this was many years ago).

If you're referring to "City Lights Bookshop", it's on Richmond St. just south of Dundas.  Probably the only place you'd find D&D stuff, though the selection has diminished greatly in the last decade.  ;)

Every used book store in the Seattle area either is on Ebay or has sold out to Wonderworld Books.

I was in their store in Burien, WA a few days ago (bit of a road trip).  They have transformed from a gamer paradise...gaming tables and all that....to a game warehouse.  They are literally stuffed with game materials of all sorts.  They have bought out their competitors in the area, one by one, in the decade since I last visited their shop.

Once in a while, a Navy wife divorces her husband while he is out at sea and sells all of his gaming stuff.  This is the only real source of gaming bargains in the region.  I would feel guilty buying some poor dude's childhood out from under him.....

Hi everyone. My name is Mark. I played D&D in the early 80's

and I am from Columbus, OH. I live in Los Angeles now and I

love LA. I have always been a collector of old and rare D&D.

I plan on getting the tournament modules of C2, Tsojoconth,

and Tamochan. I already own an Orange shrinkwrapped B3

plus original Artwork from the Grenadier D&D Lead figure boxes,

and first runs and other rare Grenadier stuff.

I think the Tsojoconth is worth 1601.00 and ALOT more in my

mind given it's condition and who it's coming from.

I was quoted an offer to buy a mint condition ST1 for $4500.00 I thought that was a little high, since the last copy I saw sold here was for around 2850.00 any thoughts?

Hi Mark and welcome to the site. :) To answer your last question 1st, there were 2 sales for ST1 here over the last 6 months. The 1st one went for a confimed $2500.00. The second one that was sold was never annouced publicly as to the final price, so I am not sure what it was. Either way IMHO $4500.00 is way way too high. As a matter of fact there is only one person that I can think of that would put a price on one for that much, and he is the much reviled Cougarrinard. :x

As far as the Tsojconth auction goes, IMO the price is high, especially considering the last one that this same seller sold about 10 months ago went for an est $1100.00. Two others, although probably in not in as nice condition as this one, were sold at this years GenCon for $450.00 in VG & $750.00in NM. With all that being said though, it most certainly your own money and who the hell am I to tell you how to spend it.

I am sure that others will be chiming in their $.02 as well.

I made mistake. it is Courgarrinard and he quoted me a price of

$6000 USD. I laughed at him and never responded. That was way too

high of a price.

I just saw the the prices listed for the two Tournament Tsojoconth's

and I plan to be at the Winter Gen Con in California this year so I won't miss out on fun finds and make my money work for me instead of having it work for someone else. I am happy to be the high bidder on the Tsojoconth, but I am still learning. No regrets and thanks for the reply.

BTW I dont plan on buying ANYTHING else from Cougarrinard anymore

off line or on EBAY. I dont like his prices IMHO.

$6000 USD is an entirely reasonable price for a rare, if I were you I'd snap up any copy you see under that.

(Ok, I'm slightly biased at the moment!)

Hey Deimos, nice to see yours up for auction.  Might give some of us with aspirations, but smaller fortunes, a shot at things.  Of course, now I'm gritting my teeth over not having jumped on it when I had the chance, but hey, I'm happy on your behalf with the way it's shaping up so far.  Maybe I'll chime in anyway...sorry Al.
