I always thought that was the idea of this thread was to point out things you might not want or need that you think others might find interesting. I did not really think it would escape attention for too long. Heck I figured if I found it then everyone else had already seen it. I hardley ever find anything that someone else doesn't find eventually.

Brian; that was cruel! ^^

Just 'coz you can't win without a fairly outrageous bid doesn't mean you have to bid him up $100 to within a quarter of his presumed maximum. ;)

Do you really want to pay that much for a copy with a fairly obvious rubbed water-splash mark on the front cover? :?

Heh, heh... whatever.

Hey David, No that was not a jack up bid, that was a bid to win. :wink:  I was still a little bit steamed after falling short by almost $250.00 on the Character Archaic, that I kind of got that "I am winning this at any cost" thing going.  After looking at it though, I realized that my bid probably looked like a jack up due to the seemingly predictability of his bids, but if I was truely trying to jack it up, I would have bid $260.01.  :wink: After bidding the $259.75 and seeing that wasnt enough to win, I kind of realized that I was acting a bit erratcially, and backed off. :)

"A bit erratically"? :lol:

Am sure someone else is bound to see the price and go "darn, it must be worth at least that much, I'll have to bid even higher... besides I'm sure one sold for $3/400". :P

*stands well back* :D

Response from the seller, fyi;

Guess they decided not to do so after all. :roll:

*shudder* That's crazy.  The last "sane" bid on this was Brian's 2nd one, $156.78.

Yea, I have the same feeling. I have in the past but only in rare circumtances, but I am going to start sniping only on items that I really want now. I not entirely confortable with giving an unknown 3rd party my Ebay info, but it seems Ebay nowadays is full of people who seem to think that someones Proxy bid is a benchmark no matter how high it is, and that if someone is willing to bid $x.xx than hell it must be worth $x.xx + $20.00. :roll: I will not be surpised to see the current high bidder not win that auction. :roll:
