Quite so. A completely empty woodgrain box like this -- even with taped corners -- could go for up to $500, mabe more. The cover sheet does appear clean. Many of us DO have extra booklets, remember, and transplants are common; I deal with 'em all the time at the GenCon auction. And tho the original textured booklets are harder to come by, some of us DO have extras, often acquired onesy-twosy over the years, just for this sort of situation...

I mean I guess I would pay 10 bucks for a Hulk 181 with no covers and cat piss on it just to have it but I wouldn't pay $100 for it  because a "minty" one goes in the $1000's ( if that makes sense, I really shouldn't think/type before noon )

So, I'm asking too much at $20 for the Hulk 181 I wiped my ass with?

I wasnt sure where to post this so here it is.

Auction I won:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 7006667692

Current auction up now:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... Track=true

I won the first one for John and ended up returning the book for a refund. It is missing pages 123-126, the perferated ones.

My point is buyer beware. Either its missing pages or the seller ripped off the pics from the previous auction.

Mike

Yeah, good spot, Mike.

Perhaps more likely a recycled image, rather than being resold by the same person/different ID, given that the current auction has clumsily rescaled the previous image.

surprised me, thought it might go higher. Although there were not many pics to support it. did anyone have a better descript from seller?

The seller was really polite and fast at sending through detailed descriptions.  They told me that most of the stuff was in good condition (inc. issue #1), although I recall #3 had a stained back and a some had smallish corner creases.  And all clean rust-free staples (he says, speaking of his personal phobia  :) ).

I suspect they were better than they looked. Appears to be "regular" jaggies in that image, rather than faults on the 'zines.

[ed.] Oh, thanks for that, Steven... :)

Nice little lot here...could go for next to nothing due to piss poor auction listing.
