Congrats to the final winner on the 20 year lot of D&D stuff. I was going to jump in at that last second but it passed my no more bid mark. A nice deal still, I did the math. At 130 items for $1150, that's $8.80 a piece. Some of those items are worth a heck of a lot more than $8 bucks, too! With some strategic resales, you could make up some of that cost. Depends on what you want to sell or keep, though! :D The seller had sent me some other pics offline and I noticed some items not shown in the photos on ebay. Again, nice win for cougarrinard.

I checked this out and it was still available, I was going to snag it but hesitated for a few minutes... Oh well, I can use that $150 for bills now instead.

Who, once again, pushed his way into a U.S.-shipping-only auction, presumably with his patented Unobtainium Power Seller speech. Me-frickin'-ow.

Assuming he's got the green-light from the seller, Cougie will now begin browbeating the guy and demanding shipment via M-bag. I'm half-considering warning the seller about Cougie's very suspicious track-record with M-bags; it's very curious how so many of the expensive lots "fail to arrive."

Yep, bridesmaid for me again.   The seller has been warned already about shipping M-bag to the UK to Cougarrinard.

Well, then he's been warned at least twice, if you get my meaning.

You never know, Brian, maybe Cougie did not have permission to bid. You might be getting a second-chance offer in the next couple of days ...

I had no idea about him at first glance, sounds like a character. I take that back, pox on him for winning.

I own a couple of them, they are grenadier figs molden in plastic with scenery to build upon. The scenery is flimsy, and I only have 2 because I got one in shrink for $5. I have another one, I think it has the red dragon with it but thats been buried for a bit. I can dig them out if you need more info...not worth the $35 IMHO

I appreciate the offer, but I'm not looking to bid on this auction.  I've just never seen this before and was wondering if it was unusual.

Yeah, I passed on that as well.

Condition was so-so and smoky, plus it's normally one of the cheapest items from the run, too. $100-120 would've been tempting.
Plus (personally) wasn't a particularly good seller to work with; and others have queried, too. Has his own rules and will not shift an inch on them or go out of his way to assist, even when there's no personal benefit save to himself. *shrugs*

I remember looking at a couple of these sets a while ago on Ebay and thought they were interesting but they ended up selling for considerably more than $35.

Did you risk any restoration Mike?

No, not yet. I've been too busy preparing to move to give it the attention it requires. I'll let you know how it turns out when I do  8O

I was watching that, but i couldn't work out whether it was definitely first or not.  If I was certain I would have bid more (and hence won it, as opposed to losing)  :)

Almost certain the S&S was a first: same seller as had the bound 3rd print OD&D set and they'd already been alerted to what to look out for re. printings.

Getting together a decent set of 1st print supps would seem to be a good idea, no?

pre-release/staff-copy T1st Greyhawk? ;)

*g* sry ^^

(Unless those were a sample/proof run, it's fairly likely that a few were sold on to the general public. Whether they can be ID'd by the lack of the price alteration rather than having to resort to a ruler is another matter...).
