Hiya folks---

Could someone in Australia please provide input on the following shipping charges:  $15AU to ship to San Jose, CA, with $10AU shipping insurance required.

Is that reasonable for a book say the size of T1-4 or so?

You can check the rates on the Australian Post website Home - Australia Post
But it sounds about right to me, though I don't know about the insurance.

Hi Allan -

Australia Post has a flat rate envelope for $6, but its A4 sized and the weight limit is only 250g... say about a half pound. The next bracket is 250-500g which is probably where T1-4 would sit, for $10.80 not including any packaging - if I was sending that module I'd probably put it in a postpak envelope with some cardboard, which would be another $1.65 or so. Add a couple of bucks for handling and that would be close to $15.

Don't know about insurance, but it sounds right. I never bother with it as it seems way out of proportion cost-wise.

Regards

Mike

The $$$ seemed a bit high, so I thought I should ask.  When I ran the the numbers on the AU PS to see what they had to say, the postage was $8 or $11 AU via Airmail, slightly less for Economy Air, so I guess the numbers are on target based on what he was quoting me.  Thanks guys! :D
