Okay, only one rule:  you are NOT allowed to consult any source material before answering.  Post a question and test the community's depth and breadth of useless (or not so useless) D&D knowledge.  Let's have some fun!

To start things off:  in which module is the command word "BONZO" used?

Bonus question:  what does the command "BONZO" activate?

Okay, here's another to think on . . .

What is the only Magic-User spell from the original Player's Handbook that is NOT an Alteration, Abjuration, Illusion/Phantasm, Conjuration/Summoning, Divination, Evocation, Necromatic or Enchantment/Charm (or combination of thereof).

What is the Spell? What is the type (school of magic)?

Magic Jar (Possession).  For the Possession-savvy, who wrote the article in Polyhedron that addressed this anomaly, and created additional Possession school spells?  (Hint, it's not Frank Mentzer).

I have no idea on BONZO, FYI :D

You know, if this is from 3 or 3.5 module than that is cheating.

Fun thread — I want to play!

Okay, think classic S2 module ... but no looking.

Easy: Name the three super-magical weapons to be found in White Plume Mountain.

Sort-of easy: Which weapon was found in which section of the dungeon? (I'll call the sections left, center, and right)

Harder: Who or what was the final guardian for each of the weapons (the "boss monster," of that section, in other words)

Harder still: A. Name the mad wizard who built/altered the dungeon; B. name his two efreet henchmen (would that be "hench-efreet"?); C. name the second pair or hench-efreet who were available at DM's discretion.

Super-hard: A. What was the answer to the sphinx's riddle in encounter 1? B. Which globe (of the nine) held the real key in encounter 4? C. What was the answer to the flesh golems' number puzzle in encounter 5?

+++++

Ack! Clarkie, this reminds me — I owe you an S2! It's on the way ...

Blackrazor, Wave and Whelm

Whelm to the left, Wave in the middle and Razor to the right, I think

Razor was guarded by an ogre magi, Wave by a giant crab, and whelm by a vampire.

Forgot the wizard, but Nox and some other ox were two of the efreet. Nix and another ix were the others. Was it Blox and Blix?

Pearl is the riddle answer?

Globe #6 I believe.

The answer was the golem with the only prime number.

Best I can do!

What god did you have to convert to worshipping in order to use Wave?

Easy: Wave, Whelm, Blackrazor
SOE:Black Razor Right, Wave Center, & Whelm Left
Harder: Whelm was a Vamprie who's name I forget, Black Razor was an Ogre Magi disguised as a Halfling whos name I forget, and Wave was A GIant Crab with 60 HP
Harder Stil: a) Keraptis b) Nix & Nox c)Box & Cox
Super Hard: a) Moon B) I forget C) 9 was the only non prime number.

And No I didn't cheat, I just happen love that module and have read it like 1000 times.

Posieden or some other sea god at the Dms discretion.

It's official: Frank and Brian have too much time on their hands! Or, they just love S2 as much as I do ...

The S2 quiz has been nailed (mostly):

E: The weapons, of course, are Wave, Whelm, and Blackrazor
SOE: It's Blackrazor to the left; Wave in the middle and Whelm to the right.
H: (from the left) Blackrazor is guarded by Qesnef the Ogre-Mage; Wave by "just about the biggest giant crab anyone's ever seen" — with, yes, 60 hit points; and Whelm by Ctenmiir the vampire.
HS: Keraptis; Nix and Nox; Box and Cox
SH: Moon; the eighth globe; the golem with "9" (the only prime number)

Hey, like I said I love that module. 8)  Besides I could have made it worse by saying that Sir Bluto was wearing Boots of Striding & Springing. Oh wait, I just did.

Exactly right. Whelm's purpose: "death or disfigurement" to all non-believers. First-edition AD&D was the best. 8)
