I was wondering if anybody had any information about miniature boxed sets for D&D. On an auction I have recently won on Ebay(item was from England) the description did not state that it was miniature and upon recieving the package I was kind of shocked
. The boxed set is an Expert Set w/ the face logo(1012, seems to be exactly the same as the full size version only about 3.5"x4.5". Any information on year or value would be greatly app.
Thanks, Devon(burntwire)

It kinda sounds like the Reprints in Miniature - Twenty First Century Games product line. I suppose these are
OOP
already???...but only a couple of years old.

That is what I assumed(there are no markings on who reprinted it)! Do you happen to know the original price of this item as I paid a pretty good sum for it, thinking that it was an full size original. I will probably have to ask for a partial refund from the seller. Thanks for the info. Burntwire

Thanks for the list! Now I can only hope that the sellers of these items list them as miniature versions that were reprinted. I emailed the person I bought tis from asking for a partial refund since he did not state this fact
. I can only hope as my other recourse is to leave him negative feedback.

Is this the auction?

The seller doesnt even make mention of its miniature size. I am thinking he actually might not have known better. You must have been quite shocked when you opened your package if you had never seen one of those reprints
. You probably thought there was a little extra something in your smokey
. I actually think they are pretty cool but not for 38 bucks. They are on NobleKnight for $12.95 in SW. Good luck. Adam

Would someone anyone who owns these reprints please describe the maps from the Greyhawk box set? How large are they, and what's the quality like?

Hi Allan, All of the ones I own, which are not necessarily Greyhawk, are made to scale almost exactly from what I can tell. All the information on them are the same just much smaller. If your eyesight ain't too good I would stick with the larger originals.

The mini reprints are exactly like the originals just in smaller form. The menzoberranzan item is exactly the same except the maps, booklets, etc are just in hobbit size
. Good quality stuff. Recommended.

The mini sets are perfect if you're on the road and wanted to play a little D&D.

Greetings, If he is a specialty
RPG
dealer than he is at fault for not describing the item as miniature. E-bay dealers quite often don't give size indications or other important facts. This includes collectors, paperback and many
RPG
sellers. A good antiquarian bookstore always gives size and page numbers. Usually size is indicated by dealer/collector jargon i.e. 16mo, 12mo , small octavo, octavo, large octavo, quarto, and folio. page numbers should indicate the numbered pages, if their are "points of issue", then those should also be mentioned. Perhaps, I am biased, I was trained in antiquarian books from one of the most knowledge ABAA dealers (now semi-retired) on the west coast. ABAA dealers are biased against pocket paperback books and
RPGs
. As a gamer (3rd ed. and Shadowrun), a writer of
RPGs
(for private use for now) and a small time collector (actually mostly metagaming books), I have pursued
RPG
collecting knowledge on my on accord. When
RPGs
and pocket paperback books are described accurately, the system used is usually the Comic Book Code or a variation of it as used on this site. To give the credibility these books deserve and for uniformity of code, I always use the antiquarian standard. Lesson: Let the buyer beware, if the dealer isn't a respected specialist, you have to ask a lot of questions.

Well, it looks like the person I won the auction from did not want to refund me anything
. They stated that they didn't know any better(ignorance is no excuse to me). I am sure that they made a killing in profit on the item and still they refused. Oh well looks like it has to be negative feedback!

Hello,
Do the reprint boxed sets actually come with little module reprints as well? IE a mini
B2
or X1?
Thanks....
