Anyway. Everyone make a guess at final bid and put up a D&D/AD&D module or accessory (something with little value).

Rules of estimate:
1. For those bidding or about to bid, you must estimate prior to bidding. This starts now. So those that have bid can get in now before the sniping begins.

2. Can't bid within $25 of another bidder.

3. Closest bidder wins regardless of over or under.

4. Sorry to the international crowd. This is gonna have to be a U.S. contest only. I'm not gonna pay to send my little wager to Tibet!

5. No estimates within 48 hours of auction end. That gives about 4 days to get your estimate in.

(I obviously missed the shrinkwrap, or else more people have finally "come to their senses" that it's a bit pointless spending hundred of dollars on something you can't even touch or look through... ).

Probably guessed it would go above my "mark" given those auctions were pretty high flying, with many items going for serious premiums long before the end.
Yeah, would probably have been a good copy since Tim was well aware of its value 20+ years back and had stashed it away in a box. (His 1st Eldritch & D,DG&Hs were the mintiest I've ever seen, anyhow).

fwiw, the going rate (private sales) for a SW'd orange B3 was ~$800-850 this time last year, regardless of those "blips" on eBay.
Hence my $700-750 target setting for a minty-ish non-shrinked copy: the shrink is still a liability in my book.

Certainly interested to see what happens with this...

Well said!  It's "only" an orange B3.  8)  I think bclarkie's wager is pretty safe thus far...

What you describe was my exact motivation for downloading an orange B3: I wanted to go through page-by-page and do comparisons with my green copy (and I knew there was no way, short of an actual Act of God, that I'd ever own a physical copy of the orange version).
