Holy Cow, folks aren't even dicking around with snipes anymore. Improvstone and bill77197719 are just going Head to Head. 8O

==========================

Looks like I spoke way to soon.  Its a shame Pit of Geburah is going to Greece. :cry:

That's just effing insane.  Is this the highest price ever paid for a piece of D&D ephemera? Or any D&D related item period?  Dude, that's a month's salary in these parts for my wife the engineer (I can't even touch that myself)!!! Congrats!!!!

My god, that's what I like to see!  Someone who knows what they want and has the balls to go after it!  Nice!

*g*. So much for the huge snipe I had tucked away, "in reserve". Didn't even register! :lol:

Congrats, Mike <improv>. :D

Erm, that was exactly the principle I was working on (as underbidder, as it turned out!).
eBay.com Item Bid History

So long as Mike doesn't tell me his max was $888! ;)

(Oh, and a record for one sheet, too, I think?)

And here I thought I might be able to sneak in a bid in the $2000-range and come away with that level----NOT! :D Very very nice Mike :D

Paul, when you run your stats, I'd be curious to see how many items were bought by Acaeum members and how much of the total pot was bought by us (vs. folks who came in from out of the blue)....

Send me your address, and I'll come over and frame it for you and worship properly before it.  :lol:

Well, at least I got my little letter.  Cool enough, I suppose...

So, the next big question, of course, is "How can Paul top this next time?"  8O   :lol:

Wow, tonight was a hell of a lot of fun to watch. :D  :D  :D   It seems almost all of the important stuff went to well known collectors.  I am still a little disappointed that Pit Of Geburah went to some unknown bidder from Greece. :?

Wel that is good to know.  I would hate to have that thing shipped off never to be seen or heard from again. :wink:

We'll have to see if IO can host a national D&D museum tour the likes of the Philly Dali exhibit (which was absolutely excellent---saw it while I was back there for my brother's wedding).  Perhaps he can get collectors to loan various items for the show!
