I am 35 and started playing at age 11-can't remember my first characters name!!! It's no wonder 31-35 age group has so many people we were ALL playing back in the early 80's-remember?


Posted: seeking arcane knowledge, will pay well for old writings,books,scrolls,alchemist cookbooks, and other odds n' ends that will aid me in furthering my pursuits!

I'm 42.  Frackersnackering young whippersnappers. Started playing the spring of 1979, and started DMing that summer, my group played all the "letter" modules (G series, D series, A series, S series, B series, etc) as they came out....We gamed T1 when it came out and then I ran a few "inbetween" adventures until T2 came out... oh well 8O.  Turned out the entire party was retired at high levels by the time T1-4 finally rolled around!!!!

Gary was born on 27 July 1938, which makes him 67 in July.  Rob Kuntz just turned 49 this year, IIRC.

this is depressing, 55 this year.  My involvement with the game (at different levels of activity) has now been 25 years.

almost 47, and I resent that dust crack(Hmmm, Descent into the Dust Crack. There's a name for a module). You young whippersnappers should have been around in the old days. Why things back then were so tough, we played with actual dungeons and dragons. You have it way too easy now.


Started playing D&D at Great Lakes in '76-'77. Went to Dungeon in Lake Geneva. Got to adventure in original Blackmoor. Saved some rare pieces from then, not in best shape: Palace of Vampire Queen, Beastmaker Mountain. Started collecting recently.

LOL:  just because you're older doesn't necessarily mean you've got gaming years on all of us Tom :D  Some of us whippersnappers started in 1977 ;-P

It was just supposed to be some light humor. I think you are overreacting a bit. We didn't use real dungeons and dragons. It was a JOKE. I wasn't being critical. Lighten up, for heaven's sake.

29. Started gaming with 15 or 16. Although I did play one or two games of Das Schwarze Auge quite some time before...


Average acaeum member age seems to be about 36. But the average D&D player age is a lot younger methinks. 3rd Edition did draft a lot of younglings...
