I collect PDFs, but not the crap you can buy online. The only way to get good quality PDFs is to make them yourself.

I have a small collection of manuscripts and some mint Judges Guild stuff, but that's just 'cos I can't get good quality scans of the hex maps.

I'm keeping my current list of PDFs I've made on my site. Every one is a 600dpi scan.

99% of everything I buy and scan is resold eventually.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

There shoulda been a category for non D&D TSR stuff too... :)  Like Gamma World, Boot Hill, Star Frontiers, Top Secret, etc. I love that stuff.

Since I don't really have the extra cash to collect much of anything - virtually everything I buy gets resold.  However, I have archived all my scans - currently, I have over 4,500 jpg images on my computer.  Anyone who has seen my auctions knows that they are all fairly large scans of both the front and back.

Occassionally, I am guilty of bidding higher on lots than I normally would because they contain items I that have not previously passed through my hands.  This way I can at least acquire the scan and check the item out before passing it on . . .   :D

first edition stuff is my great love because it brings back memories  of learning the game as a teenager.  Plus its a nice way of building up little inexpensive collections for each of the kids to have when  they are older.  Even their mother approves if I keep the spend sensible and that's a first since we split up I can tell you!!!   To  me getting a  really well kept A1 that I can bag for them whilst they use my beaten to crap copy is pretty rewarding.  Now all I have to do is make sure they get awesome jobs and keep me in ST1, Tosjconth, PotVQ etc, etc etc

I collect things I remember having/playing/wanting to buy when I first got involved in playing RPGs, amongst other things.  My highest priority is to finish out my 1st ed/oDnD collection.

Right now, I'm collecting stuf that's in good condition, but cheap.

Eventually, I'll have everything thats common & uncommon.

Then, I'll work on my wife to let me have the rares and multiple copies.

Dave, get the barbarian in the corner a drink, quick!

I went for the ultra-rare option, since tourneys, obscure GH stuff, and early TSR stuff in general remains my favorite items to hunt :D

I started collecting OD&D/1E purely for nostalgia. I wanted to pick up all the modules I remembered seeing in the shop and advertised which I didn't have enough money to own at the time.

But somehow my collecting seems to have broadened. At some point I'm sure I will have to embark on a process of rationalisation and get rid of the 2E/3E stuff. But I'll put that off until tomorrow for now

As far as D&D goes, I collect 1st and 2nd Edition TSR stuff and that is about it.  I have only picked up a couple of 3rd edition modules and that is all I care to buy.  I cant really afford the rarer stuff.  I figure if I have to pay more than $100 for something then I really don't need it.  :(

I did pick up my first Chainmail, OCE, and supplements recently.  I never saw these in the stores and didn't know they existed until just a few years ago.  I figure if I am even a half-ass serious collector I should have these.  :D

I have seen every kind of collectors and then some  :) and everyone has his/her own tastes.

Personally I'm most interested in "old" material - 1st AD&D and old D&D. The rest is all consequences - eg when you buy lots, you actually get a lot of material you don't have and so you stuff into its convenient place next to the other.

So, it comes out that I have a lot of "playing" 2nd edition material, but no 3rd - IMHO this is another RPG entirely - miniatures, that I paint and play with. I have lots of other systems and non TSR material - bought many years ago, that I have recently recovered from the dungeon under my ex-wife lair   and sometimes, when I see soemthing on ebay, my compulsive buying mental disorder kicks in and I find myself unable to resist to my instincts...
