If folks really want to do something serious about him, go talk to the FBI about it. Mail fraud isn't treated lightly.

This is small potatos for a federal agency.  If we could locate exactly where he is in Virgina, contacting the local district attorney and law enforcement agency might be a better way to go.

Mail fraud is a good nasty to hit someone with, but the problem is that there is typically a threshold of activity (i.e. ripped off parties) that must be documented before action is taken.  The problem with this happening on Ebay is a coordination of complaining parties leading to action.  If you could ever get enough people to all file a complaint, it might trigger actions....thenumber of complaintaints for Texas used to be 20, but that was years ago  so it may be much higher now.

Well, as I said, if someone is serious about it, then there's all sorts of folks that left negatives for jonb.

Squashing him once he starts up again is all well and good, and I'll be happy to help out with that, but that doesn't do him any signifigant harm. No justice there.

I'm sure we'll have flushed him out as soon as Blasted Lands and Beastmaker Mountain turn up on eBay.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Buy them on a credit card. Chargeback and screw him before he can screw everyone else.

I am really sorry to dig up this old thread, but an article I just read on CNN is very pertinent to our old friend for whenever he decides to show up again.

404 Error Message - SI.com

This guy actually almost got prison time for stealing peoples money on EBay and it was for only $1700.00. Being that good ole jonb has been at this through many different screen names over the course of several years, I would strongly suggest that when he does show up again, we really make a determined effort to get this guy tossed in the clink. I can guarentee that he stolen far more than $1700 over the course of his reign of terror, so assuming that enough effort is put into it, I am sure that we can shut him down for good. I still for the life of cannot figure out how he has been able to get away with scamming so many people for so long, but I guess it is just a matter of continuing to follow up in the pursuit of putting this guy down for good.

There was an article in the local paper the other day about a guy who's facing a 4-yr sentence for the same thing, and he bilked people out of about $4000 on ebay.

wow, that seems harsh!  Four years in a cell with Bubba the horny truck driver.  What if he just gave the money back and said sorry?

*bumpidy*

In lieu of the now 4th return of the D&D collectors nemesis jonb7839/TGE/ETC, this thread certainly needs to be bumped for all those around who were here for the most recent incarnation of this moron.  Once again it really needs to be said that avoiding this guy is of utmost importance.
