bclarkie wrote:afoolandhis$ wrote:I don't get it. Why would he be testing the waters for a snipe? It is a lot easier to plan what your snipe is going to be, or if you want to set one up at all for that matter, if you already know what the high bidders bid is.

I wonder when they are going to remove the neutrals just left. This is starting to get pretty annoying.

Xaxaxe wrote:Oh, yeah, he clearly did not "enter the wrong amount"; this is retraction-abuse at its worst.(Not to get too off-topic, but I've always loathed eBay's bid-retraction policy. I really don't think retractions should be allowed — ever. The only two excuses ever offered are "sorry, wrong amount" and "my kids must have done it"; both are total bullshit. We all know that 99-plus-percent of bid retractions are an attempt to smoke out the current high bid)Clarkie is right; this really should be reported. Unfortunately, eBay policy is clear that only the seller has a legitimate right to complain — if you're reading this, orange B3 seller (sorry, I've forgotten your name), then, by all means, file a complaint.

Just happened to notice his auction wins over the last 4 weeks:Welcome to eBayDoesn't really seem like someone just looking to offload a bunch of stuff from his dead brother doesn't it. The worst one is this one though:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5197973246
Deadlord36 wrote:OK, let's put the facts out there:1. JonB is not a brother, he IS TGE in a new incarnation.2. The pattern is following the same lines.3. Several "dead brother" items that were sold and unsent before are being resold.I'm not sure why this thread gets any attention, this should all be old news to everyone. The basic fact of the matter is that if you bid on JonB auctions, you may or may not get what you pay for.

Running through the high points of this dumbass' "career" gives newer members a "heads up" when dealing with this combo of liar, thief and con man. Now, I agree with you, that anyone who has been on these boards for any length of time that bids on his stuff needs to drink a big bottle of Caveat Emptor.

Now, I agree with you, that anyone who has been on these boards for any length of time that bids on his stuff needs to drink a big bottle of Caveat Emptor.Well, I do bid occasionally on his stuff when he doesn't have a BIN and the lowball bid is there. I figure one of two things will happen: 1. I'll actually get the stuff, and cheap.2. I just contributed a bit of cash to the "negative feedback fund". Too bad there's no tax receipt, but it's a good cause all the same.Either one I'm fine with.
Badmike wrote: As long as the negative feedback fund isn't a whopping $150 or so. But then you still are doing business with a liar and a thief, something I just can't bring myself to do. If they guy had walked into 2-3 Acaeum members houses and taken money off their dresser, we would be calling the police on the guy. But because he steals through ebay everyone just kind of shrugs their shoulders and chalks it up to experience. It reminds me of the penalties for vehicular homicide until just a few years ago. I could be cleaning my gun while drunk and accidentally kill someone, and I'd get about 2-3 years in prison. But if I got drunk and ran over a kid in my car, I'd get a suspended sentence and 10 years probation. Thankfully that has changed. Hopefully someday we'll view internet criminals the same way and not give them free pass after free pass when they steal seemingly without penalties. Mike B.
