How do you know he is aware of it?

I e-mailed him when Fez I and Nanorien Stones were up for auction. I asked him if he could take payment in escrow, and pointed out the thread here. That was back when he was a zero rated seller. By all accounts both modules went to David, and I assume everything is fine with them.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Believe me, he has been aware of this site already for years. He posted here when he was the_game_emporium and he had a link to the site on his About me Ebay page when he was the_eastern_treasure_chest!!.

The JonB7839 account has definitely been editted by Ebay or illegally hacked, as the members profile has a total of 103 feedbacks but only 99 positive, and 1 neutral comments suggesting, three feedbacks were removed. Also the feedback range from April 5-26th 2005, but his recent rating history show an identical 99 positive and 1 neutral, over a Six and Twelve Months period. Also the member joined March 20th 2005. These particular anomolies would be apparant to experienced Ebay users, who would question the irregularities and act accordingly, but a new member would be attracted with the positive feedback.

In Britain normally issues can be raised to a independent regulator of the industry or market to whom adjudicate or investigate compaints, anomolies, or loopholes in the laws. If Ebay are part of a regulatory body in America, maybe the whole saga could be reported, and investigated. Otherwise more Ebay members will be unscrupulously deceived by this user.

well funnily enough i was once given feedback which was an utter lie and totally unjust and when i asked ebay to look into the matter, the reply was pretty much "shove it up your arse, thats how it is", so i kinda just left it really. amazing how ebay can do it when they want to isnt it?

Well, he's started.  Here comes the beginning of the end.  His first neutral, and just like I said, it's for shipping late. Soon his board will be filled up with excuses having to do with illness, school, family problems, mother in the hospital, computer viruses, etc, until he finally disappears again.  Buyer Beware.

Mike B.

Shipping was the main problem. Item recieved was in great shape.

Just as a confirmation, Ebay did in fact delete that feedback. What a crock of sh*t. It is not the first time that I have seen them do it, but the fact that are protecting a known thief makes it that much worse.
I think the feedback giver may have jumped the gun a bit and that is why they removed it. The key is to wait at least a few weeks and then blast him foir theft.
I agree with BadMike that the end is now starting..................

hey folks...here's a little news clip that popped up today, go check it out

Error 404 - Virgin Media

it just goes to show, that if ebay DON'T do anything about it, then other ppl eventually do!

so beware jonb/ETC/f*ckwit-who-stole-my-money...one day your luck will run out and i hope you get hit where it hurts the most, in the hardest way possible.

Al

Well, I'm a newbie to collecting and will buy nothing from him.  One of the first threads I read was on this guy.  Keep up the good work on exposing these idiots.

I have a few bids in on some items. If they don't show up, that is fine, since I will be in the Virginia area at the end of June.

When in doubt, just make up something about the module, maybe a newbie will bid on it, read the description:

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& ... 2&rd=1

The first appearance of the Dark Elves, aka Drow, was G3 Halls of the Fire Giant King, NOT D3 Vault of the Drow.

And to add insult to injury, he states the item is "collectible"  Maybe a cherry copy of D3, not the piece of toilet paper he has for sale (check out the photo).  I've thrown away adventures in this shape. If you were going to create a D&D conman, you couldn't make this guy up....

Don't know if this is common, but I've just heard of an ebay thief in the UK getting a 12 month sentence, he was selling non-existent camcorders and mobile phones:

BBC NEWS | UK | Wales | eBay fraud boy detained for year

Anyway, the judges summing-up rings true here: "....you obtained cash by selling goods on the internet site eBay and carried on this conduct for over a year despite the warnings."
Thats right, he was warned not to and carried on whilst over £45k was stolen, presumably never to be returned.

So long as eBay got their cut why would they try to stop him? Its illgical to refuse income from a immoral source. Provided you are covered legally, you would be stupid not to take his business. Fraud or not, eBay provide the service and get their fee.

Also. Presumably, if the guy had bugged out at say £35,000 and 'taken his warnings' he'd have make a good years income with little work and no outlay. That is also good business sense. If he can figure out how to change name and address once a year, he has a good income and no stock. In fact, you could probably run a business like that from internett cafe's.

Until eBay is held accountable I think we all deserve what we get. Just like rock stars complaining about people ripping off ther music. We all know the risks of buying on eBay, and if we're ripped off now and again, that's just the way things are. You have to assess the risk, and don't pay money you're not willing to lose.
