This afternoon I made the very brave, but not very smart, upgrade of some server software that underpins the whole site (PHP 7.4 -> PHP 8.2).  It promptly broke almost everything.  I think I've kicked most of the error messages, but if you spot something amiss, please report it here!

Thank you!  I have not seen any issues so far.

Hello Mrs. Cleaver, Theodore.

For me, the main page has all the menu items printed twice in two different fonts. Only one of the links works. Confused me to start with but I can cope!

That's weird (and doesn't have anything to do with the software upgrade... I also adjusted the main page for better clarity.  Obviously not working in your case!)

Are you on desktop or mobile when this occurs?  If on desktop, try pressing Ctrl-F5 to dump your cache and reload a fresh copy.  If that doesn't work, can you attach a screenshot?

It's working fine now. If it happens again I'll try that and post a screenshot. (I'm on my home laptop at the moment, it may have been the phone or the work laptop).

Most likely a browser cache issue.  Phones especially like to hold onto the cache regardless of your attempts to clear it.  :/

Had the same issue with the front page (on PC) but the Ctrl-F5 worked to clear that up.

It's gone wrong again! Same laptop which it was working on before, so strange. Ctrl+F5 didn't fix it. I cleared my browser cache, which did.

Specifically, it was showing the old version of https://acaeum.com/mainjoin.jpg (the double height version with the text on the image and the bottom half contains the highlight text).
To diagnose the problem I opened that url in a tab on its own and opened Dev Tools (The network tab shows a 304 response if it's cached but a 200 otherwise)

Right clicking on the jpg you can select clear browser cache, which corrects it. But every time you do a ctrl + F5 I get back the wrong version (with a 200 response).

That's very odd behaviour, something appears to be caching the wrong version.

No idea.  The site uses Cloudflare, and I purged the Cloudflare cache so it's not serving from there.  There's no other cache on the site, and that old mainjoin.jpg picture isn't even on the server anymore.  All I can think of is that it's locally stored on your site in some fashion.  Did you purge your temporary files?  As an image, the old mainjoin.jpg could be there too.

Incidentally, I just changed the main page again, this time adding fire animation to the mouseovers.  If you're seeing blue highlighting on the leftmost menu items when you hover over them, you should not be.

OK, I implemented a few other tweaks to hopefully combat this and force browsers to download the new image.

My browser has 76hp, but if in combat you can deal that much subdual damage then you can force it to serve you.

That did the trick for Safari in my iPhone, Scott! Nice work :)

When I went to post a reply on “Sellers who Infringe on Copyrights.”  I got a whack load of stuff above the reply window—also the size of the reply page was enlarged quite a bit. I imagine this is a hangover from the trouble you experienced last week, but thought you should know.

Also the main page isn’t loading for me.

Best,

PaulKM

Thanks for the error report; I'll fix those!

Main page was under construction earlier today.  Should be up now.
