1st print hex pad 40 pages?

I have a pad that is 38 double sided sheets attached to a back sheet (#39) that is single sided and then a 40th double sided sheet loose. What color is the top supposed to be (mine is pink)? Have some older photos.

My 8001 pad with the wizard logo at the bottom are double sided with a pink gum seal at the top and no cardboard backing. (1st print)
My 8001 2nd print has the cover sheet with "hex pad" on the cover sheet. Double sided. No markings on the sheets themselves. Pink gum seal at top. No cardboard backing.

Shane, attached are front and back (plus a top corner) pics of my 8001 first print shrinked with price tag. Sorry I can’t give you a page count 8) but hope it helps. NobleKnight has one which describes “30 of 35 pages.” I see the Acaeum’s listing under Dungeon Master Aids describes “35 total pages”…
