I was flipping thru a TSR catalog and found quite a few pre-pub / mock-up covers for modules and books so I thought I would start a thread here to try and gather other such images.
Please add any others that you come across.

Mike

I have a problem calling them prepubs.

NOT an early pre-publication version of the product shown.

Mockups, yes -- with some other booklet inside, for bulk, for photography.

My friends Dave & Gary made a quantum leap in the human soul. Remember them.

I wasn't sure what to call them so I used both. I can see where that may cause some confusion. I'll edit the thread if I can.

These are awesome, funny how some have just the right feel and some really jar the sensibilities - who knew, art is important!

Here's an older post with quite a few mockups:

1985 TSR catalog

Some are pretty nice!

Great pics! ...some of them are even better than the final ones! This makes me think that several good pieces of art didn't end up on a cover: the first mock-ups have never been used on a final product despite the fact they are really good! (I spotted the sign/signature of Parkinson on one of them!).
Secondly i prefer the FR logo of the mock-ups rather than the one of the 1E!

Nice find, I don't think I saw that one back when it was posted.
I will have to start looking through my other catalogs.

Some interesting (to me at least) catalog images from early 80's.
Does anyone have all the rpga items pictured?
